{"id":34957,"date":"2026-04-30T14:04:11","date_gmt":"2026-04-30T14:04:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/job\/1608-financial-markets-specialist-market-intelligence-fmd-1604-risk-analyst\/"},"modified":"2026-04-30T14:04:28","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T14:04:28","slug":"1608-financial-markets-specialist-market-intelligence-fmd-1604-risk-analyst","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/job\/1608-financial-markets-specialist-market-intelligence-fmd-1604-risk-analyst\/","title":{"rendered":"(1608) Financial Markets Specialist (Market Intelligence) &#8211; FMD \n\n\n            \n\n            \n            (1604) Risk Analyst"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Detailed description<\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:<\/p>\n<p>\tMonitor financial market developments and analyse market pricing, flows and behaviour to identify emerging risks, shifts in expectations and potential sources of monetary or financial instability.<br \/>\n\tCombine qualitative intelligence with quantitative data, models and surveys to produce clear analytical insights.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tResearch and implement relevant new methods, analytical techniques and best practices related to gathering, analysis and reporting of market intelligence.<br \/>\n\tEngage directly with a wide network of external financial market participants, including banks, asset managers, insurers and infrastructure providers.<br \/>\n\tSystematically gather, aggregate and challenge qualitative intelligence from market contacts, ensuring diversity of views.<br \/>\n\tMaintain strategic relationships with key participants in the financial markets.<br \/>\n\tProduce high\u2011quality written briefings, dashboards and presentations for senior policy forums, including the Monetary Policy Committee and Financial Stability Committee.<br \/>\n\tContribute directly to briefing packs and narrative used in MPC and FSC.<br \/>\n\tSupport the design, evaluation and communication of market operations and facilities.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tContribute to the design, execution and analysis of structured intelligence tools, combining survey data with broader market intelligence.<br \/>\n\tUse survey results to assess market expectations, perceptions of policy and macroeconomic risks.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tCollaborate with colleagues across the SARB to deliver on cross\u2011cutting analytical projects, horizon scanning exercises and longer\u2011term research agendas.<br \/>\n\tTransfer knowledge and skills to junior specialists, which includes providing technical support and monitoring their progress.<br \/>\n\tAssist with committee administration and provide secretarial support.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tPerform ad hoc tasks.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications<\/p>\n<p>To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:<\/p>\n<p>\tan Honours degree (NQF8) in Economics, Finance, Financial Engineering, Statistics or related field or an equivalent combination of education and job-related experience; and\u00a0<br \/>\n\tfive to eight years of job-related experience in financial markets<\/p>\n<p>The following will be an added advantage:<\/p>\n<p>\tstrong understanding of financial markets and instruments<br \/>\n\tdemonstrated analytical skills, with the ability to synthesise complex qualitative and quantitative information into clear judgments;<br \/>\n\texcellent written and verbal communication skills;<br \/>\n\tability to build credibility and relationships with external market participants;<br \/>\n\tstrong judgement and professional integrity when handling sensitive market information;<br \/>\n\tknowledge of quantitative finance;<br \/>\n\tproficient in Microsoft Office, R and\/or Python; and<br \/>\n\tproficient in data analysis.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>go to method of application \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Apply via company website ( https:\/\/www.resbank.co.za ) or<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_promoted":"","_job_location":"","_application":"","_company_name":"South African Reserve Bank","_company_website":"https:\/\/www.resbank.co.za","_company_tagline":"The South African Reserve Bank is the central bank of South Africa.
