\tRPO Recruitment’s client, a reputable engineering consulting firm in South Africa is seeking an experienced Senior Resident Engineer to join their site-based team in Durban. The successful candidate will form part of a multidisciplinary road upgrade project, providing strong technical leadership and site oversight on major road infrastructure works.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tAct as the Engineer\u2019s on-site representative, ensuring full compliance with contract specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards
\n\tLead and coordinate the site supervision team on behalf of the Engineer
\n\tOversee daily construction activities, ensuring proper inspections, quality control, and progress tracking are in place
\n\tMonitor project performance and proactively identify risks, delays, and mitigation measures
\n\tManage contractors and subcontractors to ensure delivery aligns with programme, budget, and contractual obligations
\n\tEnsure adherence to the Engineer\u2019s Quality Management System and measurement\/payment procedures
\n\tProvide technical support, guidance, and resolution of construction-related challenges
\n\tReview drawings, designs, and technical documentation to ensure correct implementation on site
\n\tMaintain effective communication with clients, engineers, contractors, and relevant authorities
\n\tCompile and submit site reports, progress updates, and quality assurance documentation<\/p>\n
Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tECSA registration as Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng (essential)
\n\tSACPCMP Pr CPM registration advantageous
\n\tMinimum 10 years\u2019 experience in road construction, rehabilitation, or upgrade projects
\n\tStrong knowledge of COTO\/COLTO specifications and BOQ measurement
\n\tExperience in pavement rehabilitation, drainage systems, traffic accommodation, and general roadworks
\n\tExposure to bridge works and CRCP will be advantageous
\n\tProficient in MS Office and project management tools
\n\tValid driver\u2019s licence essential
\n\tStrong communication and reporting skills in English<\/p>\n
