\tAs an Accounting Professional you will get the opportunity to play a pivotal part in the Finance function at Hitachi Energy, supporting financial statement preparation across Southern African countries.
\n\tBased in Modderfontein, South Africa, the position provides broad regional exposure and the chance to contribute to high\u2011impact financial outcomes by delivering accurate, timely, and compliant accounting activities.
\n\tThe role operates at the intersection of operational excellence and governance, enabling meaningful collaboration with stakeholders while ensuring adherence to internal standards and external regulatory requirements.<\/p>\n
How you’ll make an impact<\/p>\n
\tPerform monthly reviews of financial results
\n\tReview project results, including backlog execution
\n\tPrepare journal entries for specific cost items
\n\tPrepare the Monthly Management Accounts (MA) pack
\n\tPrepare audit files and support audit requirements
\n\tConduct in-depth analysis of business performance, compile information, and prepare reports to support management decision-making
\n\tPerform functional controlling activities, including budgeting, cost control, communication, charging mechanisms, tax compliance, and business partnering with relevant functions
\n\tSupport monthly and quarterly reporting and closing processes
\n\tPrepare cost analyses, estimates, accruals, reclassifications, and ad hoc reports
\n\tMonitor performance indicators, identify trends, and analyze causes of variances
\n\tCollaborate closely with local and senior leadership
\n\tDemonstrate Hitachi Energy\u2019s core values of safety and integrity by taking responsibility for actions and supporting colleagues and the business

Your Background<\/p>\n
\tPostgraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CA (SA) qualification preferred.
\n\t3\u20135 years of experience in financial controlling or analysis; advanced FP&A operations experience is an advantage
\n\tAdvanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
\n\tSolid working knowledge of SAP FI\/CO modules
\n\tStrong understanding of general accounting and financial reporting processes
\n\tAbility to analyze complex financial data effectively
\n\tProven analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to identify problems and implement solutions
\n\tStrong written and verbal communication skills, with a high sense of ownership and a proactive, results-driven approach<\/p>\n
