Duration: 6 Months Fixed Term Contract<\/p>\n
\tDeBeers Consolidated Mines is looking for drill rig operators with extensive experience at installation of primary support, secondary support and face drilling with a double boom split feed drill rig (Sandvik DD421, DD420, DD321, DD320).<\/p>\n
Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tContribute to a culture of zero harm by adhering to all requirements as laid down by legislation and health, safety, environmental and security policies and procedures, and by the application of specific instructions to own work area and task completion.
\n\tInstallation of welded mesh support with split sets and roofbolts by means of the drill rig in accordance with a predetermined support pattern.
\n\tTake-over\/ hand over shift from off\/on-going drill rig operator, attend to any abnormalities first, and then report to the supervisor to receive further instructions.
\n\tPerform visual Inspections of equipment before, and during operation according to departmental procedure to minimise breakdowns and operational losses by the timeous reporting of defects \/ abnormalities to Supervisor.
\n\tOperate equipment according to relevant mining requirements and standard operating procedures to achieve daily task.
\n\tReport and record relevant operational data as required by department procedures to compile production reports.
\n\tConduct efficient housekeeping of equipment and work area in accordance with departmental requirements.
\n\tPerform all activities according to instructions, procedures and mining needs.
\n\tParticipate in cost saving initiatives and adhere to financial procedures
\n\tAssist the engineering personnel with breakdown maintenance as well as planned maintenance activities
\n\tAccountable for own workspace and activities.<\/p>\n
Qualifications:<\/p>\n
Formal qualifications<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12\/N3\/ Equivalent NQF level 4 qualification
\n\tMQA Competent A and B Certificate for underground
\n\tDouble Boom Drill Rig Certificate
\n\tA valid underground metalliferous blasting certificate \/MQA Rock Breaking Certificate will be advantageous.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Experience required<\/p>\n
\tMinimum 3\u00a0years practical experience operating double boom split feed drill rig in a trackless mechanised underground mining environment
\n\tInstall primary support with welded wire mesh, split sets and resin bolts.
\n\tDrill and install long anchors with a double boom drill rig
\n\tCompetent to support and drill multiple development ends in one shift
\n\tExperience with Sandvik double boom drill rigs will be a definite advantage
\n\tExperience in trackless mechanised high-speed development is advantageous
\n\tThe incumbent will be required to work shifts<\/p>\n
Additional requirement<\/p>\n
\tCode B or higher Driver\u2019s License
\n\tRequired classification as per VTS testing for specific role (Orange +)
\n\tMedical Certificate of Fitness to work underground<\/p>\n
