Key Purpose<\/p>\n
\tDevelop and own the end\u2011to\u2011end finance operations for a start-up renewal energy business\u2014ensuring operational processes integrate into the entities financial processing accurately, timely, and compliant across billings, procurement, AP\/AR, treasury, tax, management accounting and financial reporting.This role will design, establish and implement finance operational processes, policies and internal controls tailored.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Finance Processes and Controls<\/p>\n
\tDesign and implement finance processes to integrate from the operating environment
\n\tLead Billings, Cashbacks, AR, AP, cashbook, and month\u2011end close; ensure IFRS\u2011compliant records and reconciliations (GL, GR\/IR, subledgers).
\n\tDesign and maintain internal controls over P2P, Capex, asset capitalization, and revenue recognition.
\n\tImplement cut-off, accruals, and 3\u2011way match (PO\u2013GRN\u2013Invoice) discipline.
\n\tOwn ERP process integrity (SAGE), master data governance, and approvals matrix.<\/p>\n
Accounts Payable & Invoice Processing<\/p>\n
\tStandardize invoice intake (central mailbox\/portal), 3\u2011way match, exception handling, and SLAs.
\n\tBuild dispute resolution process and vendor communication cadence.<\/p>\n
Accounts Receivable & Billing<\/p>\n
\tEnsure accurate customer invoicing.
\n\tCredit control: customer credit checks, collections cadence, dispute management, and DRO improvement.
\n\tRevenue recognition policies for long\u2011term contracts; alignment with IFRS 15.<\/p>\n
Project & Capex Accounting<\/p>\n
\tSet up WBS\/project structures, budgets, and cost codes for EPC and O&M.
\n\tTrack committed vs. actual project costs; manage change orders, retention, and WIP reporting.
\n\tCapitalization of assets (IAS 16), componentization, and transfer to fixed asset register with depreciation schedules.
\n\tInventory control for major equipment; periodic counts and shrinkage analysis.<\/p>\n
Treasury, Tax & Compliance<\/p>\n
\tCash flow forecasting ; manage facilities, guarantees, and FX exposure on imports.
\n\tSupport audits (internal & external); prepare audit file and respond to queries.
\n\tEnsure B-BBEE procurement tracking and reporting (where applicable).<\/p>\n
Data, Systems & Process Improvement<\/p>\n
\tOwn finance systems roadmap; lead automation in P2P\/O2C, bank feeds, reconciliations, close tasks.
\n\tDefine KPIs dashboards and close calendar; enforce SLA adherence.
\n\tTrain business users (projects, procurement) on finance procedures and approvals.<\/p>\n
Leadership & Stakeholder Management<\/p>\n
\tPartner with Projects\/Engineering\/Procurement\/Legal\/Operations to ensure commercial discipline.
\n\tProvide concise, decision\u2011ready reporting to leadership.<\/p>\n

Qualifications & Experience<\/p>\n
\t5\u20138+ years total experience, with 3+ years in finance consulting\/ operations\/controllership
\n\tStrong IFRS, VAT, internal controls. Proven track record setting up P2P\/O2C policies and leading month-end close
\n\tStrong technology and AI implementation skills
\n\tMicrosoft product suite
\n\tExperience with SAGE & \u00a0OneStream is advantageous
\n\tCA(SA) (required).
