Conduct compliance inspections and identify risk areas to Protection Services\/University. To keep and analyse statistics of all incidents reported to Protection Services. To plan, develop, organize, advise, implement, and participate in various crime prevention and \u2013 awareness strategies and campaigns directed to the campus community.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Compliance Risk and Enforcement (Investigation):<\/p>\n<p>\tConduct and complete investigations in line with legally acceptable investigating techniques, various relevant legislation, Acts and practices etc.)<br \/>\n\tTimeously respond to priority crimes when required.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tManage crime scenes according to training &amp; SOPs until hand-over to SAPS when required.<br \/>\n\tRegister anonymously reported incidents to Compliance Risk and Enforcement (CRE).<br \/>\n\tBe able to document and give an accurate incident report.<br \/>\n\tDraft precise preliminary\/final investigation reports with high reporting standards.<br \/>\n\tKeep accurate crime statistics, analyse the same, and recommend crime prevention strategies.<br \/>\n\tGather, preserve and share evidence pertinent to an investigation in line with the relevant regulations and policies.<br \/>\n\tKeep up to date with the latest investigation technology and techniques.<br \/>\n\tConduct inspections to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and UJ policies.<br \/>\n\tParticipate in consolidation of and provide inputs into management (including Executive) reports as required.<br \/>\n\tConduct and report on risks identified from social media monitoring and environmental scanning.<br \/>\n\tConduct satisfactory client service surveys.<\/p>\n<p>Crime Prevention:<\/p>\n<p>\tActively participate in the Community Police Forum (CPF) and other crime prevention forums.<br \/>\n\tImplement and participate in crime prevention and awareness campaigns.<br \/>\n\tMake recommendations to mitigate risks based on an investigation conducted.<br \/>\n\tAnalyse incident statistics to determine trends and recommend security measures to prevent further occurrences.<br \/>\n\tLiaise with SAPS to obtain feedback on cases reported.<br \/>\n\tInterfaces with UJ Departments regarding crime prevention programs and other UJ crime-related issues.<br \/>\n\tServe as an information resource of crime threats to the campus community.<br \/>\n\tMake input on policies when required.<br \/>\n\tPreparing and delivering online\/oral presentations to student\/staff groups when required.<\/p>\n<p>Minimum requirements<\/p>\n<p>\tA Bachelor\u2019s degree in Law or Commerce, or Forensics (in the Accounting or Financial fields) Forensic Investigation\/Forensic Science etc.) or any related qualification (NQF 7).<br \/>\n\tA minimum of two (2) to four (4) years\u2019 proven investigation experience in financial and criminal investigation.<br \/>\n\tProven detailed investigation report writing experience required.<br \/>\n\tHave a valid driver&#8217;s license.<br \/>\n\tExcellent report writing skills.<br \/>\n\tPSIRA Grade A registration or be eligible for registration.<br \/>\n\tProven computer skills (MS Office, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel), preferably at advanced levels.<br \/>\n\tMust be able to respond to emergencies on campus within a reasonable time.<br \/>\n\tMust be available to work after hours and on weekends when necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Recommendations:<\/p>\n<p>\tPreferred: qualification in Law \/ Investigation.<br \/>\n\tPreferred: Five (5) years\u2019 experience as an Investigator in a campus environment, SAPS, Government, or private sector (would be an added advantage).<br \/>\n\tUnderstand the Constitution of South Africa, Human Rights, Criminal Law, Law of Evidence, POPI Act, etc.<br \/>\n\tBe able to work under pressures and setbacks.<\/p>\n<p>Competencies and Behavioural Attributes:<\/p>\n<p>\tBusiness Intelligence<br \/>\n\tDecision-making and problem-solving.<br \/>\n\tDecisiveness: The confidence and ability to make timely and appropriate decisions.<br \/>\n\tPlanning and organising.<br \/>\n\tSafety and security management.<br \/>\n\tCommitment to continuous learning.<br \/>\n\tHonesty and Integrity: Must be able to display and build the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct to promote confidence and trust in the organisation.<br \/>\n\tInteract with others respectfully and sensitively, with an appreciation for diverse opinionsand views.<\/p>\n<p>Deadline:8th May,2026<\/p>\n<p>go to method of application \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Apply via company website ( http:\/\/www.uj.ac.za ) or<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_promoted":"","_job_location":"","_application":"","_company_name":"University of Johannesburg","_company_website":"http:\/\/www.uj.ac.za","_company_tagline":"Vibrant, multicultural and dynamic, the University of Johannesburg (UJ) shares the pace and energy of cosmopolitan Johannesburg, the city whose name it carries.
