Job Description
\nThis position helps provide and maintain facilities which give Church members places where they can worship, work, teach, learn, pray together, make and renew covenants, and receive sacred ordinances. Each Church facility that is built and\/or maintained should:<\/p>\n
\tProvide a spiritual setting for members to worship
\n\tPresent an image of reverence and dignity in the community. \u00a0
\n\tThis position is an individual contributor, reporting to the Maintenance Manager.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Responsibilities
\nServices, repairs, or replaces HVAC and components; plumbing and sprinkler systems; electrical systems; sound and electronic systems.<\/p>\n
\tPerforms custodial duties to keep the offices and grounds clean and orderly.
\n\tServices, repairs, or replaces locks, hinges, tile work, wall coverings, small paint jobs, motors, engines, and ground care equipment.
\n\tResponsible for safety during work, including the reporting of hazards, both inside and outside the buildings.
\n\tAttends meetings when assigned by Manager and attends training sessions to upgrade technical skills.\u00a0
\n\tEstablishes and follows preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment, motors, pumps, etc. to ensure warranty compliance and to extend life of equipment.
\n\tPerforms other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tMust be in possession of a Temple Recommend and\/or be worthy to have one.
\n\tMust have a valid drivers license.
\n\tCompleted trade school or an apprenticeship in electrical, mechanical and \/ or plumbing Trade.
\n\tA minimum of 5 years\u2019 experience required in one of the trades mentioned above.
\n\tMinimum of 5 years\u2019 experience in general handyman\/maintenance work.
\n\tMust be honest and reliable and be able to work with minimal supervision.
\n\tAbility to communicate at a professional level both written and verbally to priesthood leaders, contractors and vendors.
\n\tGood interpersonal skills.
\n\tMust be physically able to climb ladders, stairs, in order to perform maintenance functions.
\n\tMust be physically able to operate equipment and tools to make repairs, etc., and use industrial cleaning chemicals and products.
