PURPOSE OF POSITION<\/p>\n
\tTo operate switchboard to receive calls and pass them on to the correct person or department.\u00a0<\/p>\n
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS<\/p>\n
\tTo answer incoming, internal and designate outgoing calls in a professional and pleasant manner.
\n\tLiaise and communicate with doctors, executive personnel, public and colleagues.
\n\tBe able to designate complaints to relevant channels.
\n\tKeep abreast with all relevant information and contingency plans.
\n\tUpdate hospital telephone lists and relevant telephone numbers.
\n\tTo answer calls within 3 rings.
\n\tOperating busy switchboard.
\n\tFacilitate telephone calls in and out of the department.
\n\tLog calls for hospital staff and patients.
\n\tLog calls for faulty lines and switchboard.
\n\tKnowledge of health and safety rules and emergency evacuation procedures.
\n\tAssist with reception duties when required.<\/p>\n

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
(Educational Qualifications & Experience)<\/p>\n
\tMust have grade 12
\n\tPreferably have computer experience
\n\tHospital admin experience will be advantageous
\n\tAbility to deal with members of the public.
\n\tThe ideal candidate must have the willingness to assume job ownership, work independently and apply principles of continuous improvement.
\n\tMust be prepared to work shifts and Public Holidays.<\/p>\n
