\nBDO Johannesburg has a vacancy for a Associate Director within the Individual, trusts, estates, and expatriate compliance business unit – Tax Department. Reporting to the leadership of the business unit. Functions may include<\/p>\n
\tPartner in key client relationships to provide advise and support the client in their employees\u2019 tax function.
\n\tManaging a portfolio of clients including understanding the client expectations. \u00a0
\n\tAssisting BDO to achieve its financial targets driving the BDO brand, business development, tax competence and client service in line with BDO values.
\n\tGrow and develop new business opportunities \u2013 focusing on identifying opportunities for other business units.
\n\tInterpreting and applying theoretical knowledge to a practical business solution by utilizing a sound knowledge of basic income tax law.
\n\tAssisting with the research and preparation of proposals
\n\tGathering information from various sources by using effective research tools\u00a0
\n\tDrafting technically correct opinions and reports for review and providing tax opinions and advise to clients.
\n\tPreparing and\/or reviewing income tax returns and supporting tax schedules.
\n\tPreparing and\/or reviewing provisional tax calculations.
\n\tPreparing and\/or reviewing objections and appeals.
\n\tVisiting clients to discuss tax issues and assist clients with SARS audit and queries.
\n\tPresent technical training topics.
\n\tLiaising with SARS.
\n\tAdapting to a changing work environment and accommodate changing client demands.
\n\tProducing accurate work to a high technical standard while coaching and mentoring junior staff.
\n\tPerformance manager to allocated staff.
\n\tQuality control of all deliverables and ensuring compliance with the BDO risk policies and procedures to ensure meeting of statutory deadlines.
\n\tFinancial discipline, manage staff as well as WIP, monthly invoices and outstanding debtors.<\/p>\n
Requirements
\nQualifications:<\/p>\n
\tMinimum B. Com.
\n\tPreferably post graduate qualification in Tax or B. Com Hons.<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
\tMember of South African Institute of Taxation (SAIT)
\n\tRegistered Tax Practitioner
\n\tMinimum of 15 years\u2019 tax experience \u00a0
\n\t3 years\u2019 managerial experience.<\/p>\n

\n\tWell versed in all facets of general tax compliance (systems, e-filling, SARS liaison, deadline management)
