Job Summary<\/p>\n
\tThis role involves developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network systems to ensure reliable and efficient business operations. The Network Technician will apply strong technical skills and an analytical mindset to diagnose issues, improve network performance, and support ongoing network development, with the goal of sustaining a stable, high\u2011functioning infrastructure.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities and Duties<\/p>\n
\tDesign and install well-functioning computer networks, connections, and cabling
\n\tPerform troubleshooting to system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long term efficiency of network
\n\tInspect LAN infrastructure and fix minor or major problems\/bugs
\n\tTest and configure software and maintain and repair hardware and peripheral devices
\n\tEvaluate network performance and find ways of improvement
\n\tOrganise and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their own work
\n\tDo regular data backups to protect the organisation\u2019s information
\n\tProvide technical direction to co-workers on computer and network usage and offer comprehensive advice and instructions
\n\tPerform day-to-day monitoring of network tasks as well as managing helpdesk tickets assigned to network team<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Skills<\/p>\n
\tMatric \/ Grade 12\u00a0
\n\tCompTIA A+
\n\tCompTIA N+
\n\tMikrotik MTCNA
\n\tCisco CCNA (advantageous)
\n\t2 years’ experience in a similar position
\n\tPrevious experience working with Linux (advantageous)
\n\tFortinet firewall knowledge (advantageous)
\n\tKnowledge of LAN\/WAN networks, TCP\/IP protocols and network technologies
\n\tKnowledge of VPN and firewall configurations
\n\tGood communication skills
\n\tOutstanding diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills
\n\tDrivers\u2019 License (Code 08)
\n\tValid Passport
\n\tWilling to travel<\/p>\n
