Key performance areas:<\/p>\n
\tDevelop, plan, implement, and drive a risk management strategy in response to the overall strategy
\n\tDevelop and drive implementation of the governance, compliance, integrity, and ethics frameworks
\n\tDevelop and ensure implementation of risk management methodologies, techniques, templates, and systems for gathering, monitoring, and reporting of risk management activities
\n\tConsolidate the CoE’s risk profile and escalate critical risks appropriately
\n\tEnsure the effective design and integration of risk management and governance frameworks, tools, and systems
\n\tDevelop an enterprise risk management and governance capability that allows for efficient conceptualization, planning, and delivery of overall risk, compliance, and governance within the organization
\n\tEnsure effective financial management, control, and corporate governance throughout the area of accountability
\n\tDrive an aligned client service excellence culture which builds enduring, rewarding relationships, proposes innovations, and allows others to provide exceptional client service
\n\tLead and manage direct and indirect teams by providing context, setting performance standards, and educating on process, quality, and policy
\n\tEnsure effective implementation of the Council\u2019s relations with regard to risk
\n\tDrive and direct organizational governance and risk processes and compliance practices as determined by internal stakeholders, specialists, industry groups and legislative requirements
\n\tThis position requires a person who will have a legal background, as entities plus Governance Compliance is in that portfolio<\/p>\n
Core Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tB degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification in Risk Management \/ ACA \/ Insurance
\n\t10 years\u2019 management experience in a service delivery environment, of which at least 5 years should have been at a senior management level
\n\tMembership with relevant professional bodies, for example, The Institute of Risk Management South Africa (IIRMSA) and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). (Certification with any of these bodies shall be an added advantage).
\n\tExtensive experience in risk management, internal audit and systems development methodologies
\n\tSound knowledge of MFMA
\n\tGood awareness of corporate governance
\n\tAnalytical and tactical thinker
\n\tExcellent writing skills
\n\tThe ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines
\n\tKnowledge of local government legislation<\/p>\n
