Your day-to-day will include:<\/p>\n
\tPreparing and transforming data for machine learning (cleaning, feature engineering, optimisation)
\n\tConducting exploratory analysis to uncover trends and guide model design
\n\tBuilding, testing, and deploying machine learning models aligned to business needs
\n\tCollaborating with actuarial teams to align assumptions and modelling approaches
\n\tValidating models and ensuring performance, accuracy, and reliability
\n\tMonitoring live models for drift and performance degradation
\n\tMaintaining, retraining, and improving models over time
\n\tCreating clear documentation for models, pipelines, and processes
\n\tDeveloping dashboards and reporting tools to track performance and KPIs
\n\tCommunicating insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders<\/p>\n
Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tA degree (Honours preferred) in Data Science, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
\n\t3+ years\u2019 experience in data science or machine learning roles
\n\tStrong Python and R skills, with proven experience building and deploying models
\n\tSolid experience across the full ML lifecycle (data \u2192 model \u2192 deployment)
\n\tHands-on experience with statistical modelling, machine learning, and time series forecasting
\n\tThe ability to translate technical outputs into clear business value
\n\tStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with actuarial teams
\n\tA proactive, energetic mindset and a genuine passion for data and innovation<\/p>\n
Nice to have:<\/p>\n
\tExperience in insurance (especially short-term insurance)
\n\tExposure to CLTV modelling, claims modelling, survival analysis, or actuarial-related work
\n\tExperience with dbt, Snowflake, GCP, or similar cloud platforms
\n\tFamiliarity with MLOps practices and machine learning platforms
\n\tExperience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik, etc.)<\/p>\n
