MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION<\/p>\n
\tTo install, maintain and repair instrumentation equipment and systems to minimize downtime and improve reliability of Air-conditioning Plants.<\/p>\n
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
\tMaintain the building management system.
\n\tCarry out maintenance of the air conditioning controls
\n\tInstall, replace and calibrate sensing, actuating and monitoring of pneumatic and electronic controls
\n\tProgram programmable logic controllers for various types of sensors and actuators to ensure required results
\n\tDaily checks on the air conditioning system via BMS
\n\tRespond to, diagnose and resolve BMS and controls emergencies.
\n\tAssist management in formulating equipment and materials list as required.
\n\tAssist with monitoring of projects to specification.
\n\tCarry out minor changes to various systems as requested.
\n\tPerform fault finding and root cause analysis on the controls.
\n\tCapturing maintenance feedback on the maintenance management system against the allocated work order or maintenance request.
\n\tRead and understand instrumentation drawings.
\n\tProvide inputs and perform work on instrumentation related projects as and when required.
\n\tCollaborate with contractors and other construction professionals,
\n\tBe prepared to be on Standby-Duties 24\/7 and work overtime as and when required.
\n\tTake leadership responsibility and supervise work on instrumentation\/controls to ensure that the work is carried out safely in line with SABC standards.
\n\tAdhere to safety SOPs and regulations when working on Plant and Equipment to minimize the injuries on duty.
\n\tCarry out any lawful instruction as directed by the line management<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\tQualified Instrumentation Mechanician (Minimum of NTC3 or N3 & Trade Test Certificate) \/ relevant qualification (NQF Level 4) National technical qualification certificate (N3)
\n\t5 years\u2019 experience in the installation, maintenance and repairs of instrumentation equipment
\n\tBe a qualified Instrumentation artisan
\n\tDrivers License and owning a vehicle will be an added advantage.
\n\tBe computer literate.<\/p>\n
KNOWLEDGE<\/p>\n
\tPLC level programming skills
\n\tAir conditioning controls
\n\tKnowledgeable on operating systems for building management systems
\n\tGood oral and written communication skills and tact skills
\n\tProficiency in the repair and configuration of both digital, analogue, and pneumatic instrumentation
\n\tGood planning and organisational skills
\n\tAbility to deliver coherent instructions, both written and oral
\n\tAble to read blueprints and technical drawings
\n\tAbility to keep multiple jobs in controlled motion \u2013 simultaneously
\n\tAbility to prioritise jobs to meet the requirements of a broadcast installation
\n\tOrientation and commitment to customer service
\n\tAbility to plan and control projects.<\/p>\n
