We are seeking an experienced Engineering Lead to provide technical leadership across multiple initiatives, ensuring alignment between engineering teams, product objectives, and enterprise architecture strategies. This role requires a visionary technology leader who can design and guide the delivery of scalable, integrated, end-to-end solutions across a diverse technology landscape.
\n\tThe successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping technical direction, promoting engineering excellence, and enabling teams to deliver high-quality digital solutions. You will work closely with architects, product owners, and engineering teams to ensure solutions are aligned with organisational standards, security principles, and long-term technology strategies.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tProvide technical leadership across multiple initiatives, guiding engineering teams to achieve product and programme alignment.
\n\tDesign and develop fit-for-purpose, end-to-end technology solutions across multiple platforms and technologies.
\n\tGenerate innovative approaches and solutions to complex technical challenges.
\n\tDesign architecture solutions and evaluate alternative architectural approaches where appropriate.
\n\tWork closely with Enterprise Architecture teams to adopt and implement approved architectural patterns.
\n\tCollaborate with technical teams to identify and implement appropriate technologies and frameworks for new solutions.
\n\tContribute across the technology stack, including application development, databases, and DevOps infrastructure supporting continuous integration and deployment.
\n\tPromote technical excellence, engineering quality, and best practices across teams.
\n\tProvide guidance on Agile engineering practices and modern development methodologies.
\n\tSupport teams in crafting clear user stories, solution prototypes, and iterative product enhancements.
\n\tIdentify and manage technical risks, dependencies, and cross-team deliverables.
\n\tCollaborate with architecture, infrastructure, and engineering teams across the enterprise to ensure alignment and solution integrity.
\n\tAct as the principal designer for key products and platforms, producing architecture diagrams and documentation to guide implementation.
\n\tEnsure solutions comply with organisational standards, governance frameworks, and security policies.
\n\tContribute to the development of business cases and solution proposals in partnership with business stakeholders and IT service providers.
\n\tCollaborate with Enterprise Architecture to recommend improvements to technology principles, standards, and reference architectures.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements<\/p>\n
\tRelevant IT Degree or equivalent qualification.
\n\tCertifications such as TOGAF or ITIL are advantageous.
\n\t6+ years’ experience within the software development industry.
\n\tProven track record of leading and delivering complex technical solutions.
\n\tPrior experience working as a Solution Architect or Technical Lead.
\n\tStrong understanding of software development practices and the full SDLC.
\n\tExperience working with DevOps practices and tooling in Cloud environments.
\n\tSolid understanding of internet technologies and security principles.<\/p>\n
