\tAccountant responsible for maintaining robust financial controls, ensuring audit readiness, and overseeing the accuracy and integrity of all financial and administrative processes.
\n\tThis hands-on role focuses on compliance, detailed financial management, and the smooth day-to-day coordination of finance and administration.
\n\tThe position requires direct engagement with external auditors and accounting partners, including the preparation of supporting documentation and independent resolution of audit queries, thereby minimising Director involvement.

\nMinimum requirements:<\/p>\n
\tQualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
\n\tMinimum 5+ years\u2019 experience in a finance role.
\n\tStrong, practical experience in bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial controls.
\n\tProven experience working directly with auditors and external accountants (essential).
\n\tDemonstrated ability to independently manage audit preparation and queries.
\n\tProfessional qualifications such as CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent are advantageous but not essential.
\n\tStrong working knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems.
\n\tAdvanced computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
\n\tAbility to read and interpret financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow, and management accounts.<\/p>\n

Duties and responsibilities:
\nFinancial Management:<\/p>\n
\tDevelop, implement, and maintain effective financial policies and procedures in line with statutory standards.
\n\tCompile cost reports, analyse variances, and provide practical recommendations for cost efficiency.
\n\tPartner with the external accounting firm and General Manager to manage:
\n\tAnnual budgeting and forecasting.
\n\tPrepare and distribute detailed monthly management accounts.
\n\tManage supplier payments and approval processes.
\n\tOversee debtor age analysis and guide debt management.
\n\tManage levy statement distribution and issue levy clearance certificates.
\n\tAdminister payroll, including salaries, UIF, PAYE, and related costs.
\n\tPerform utility meter reconciliations and ensure accurate billing.
\n\tMaintain accurate bookkeeping and financial records at all times.
\n\tEnsure accounts are fully reconciled and audit-ready on an ongoing basis.<\/p>\n
Audit and Financial Control (Key Focus Area):<\/p>\n
\tTake full ownership of audit preparation, including compiling supporting schedules and reconciling all balance sheet accounts.
\n\tAct as the primary liaison with external auditors and accountants.
\n\tRespond to audit queries, provide required documentation, and resolve issues proactively.
\n\tIdentify discrepancies early and ensure corrective action is taken ahead of audit cycles.
\n\tEnsure a smooth and efficient audit process with minimal escalation to Directors.<\/p>\n
Administration and Compliance:<\/p>\n
\tEnsure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including CSOS and other applicable legislation.
\n\tOrganise AGMs, SGMs, Board, and Committee meetings, including preparation, attendance, and minute-taking.
\n\tCoordinate meeting packs, reports, and follow-ups.
\n\tArrange and manage annual insurance renewals, including liability and common property cover.
\n\tProvide accurate weekly and monthly reports to the General Manager.
\n\tReview and improve internal policies, procedures, and controls.
\n\tLiaise with external HR partners on staff administration and industrial relations support.<\/p>\n
General Administration:<\/p>\n
\tOversee office operations, procurement, and asset management.
\n\tMaintain accurate staff records, including leave management and HR documentation.
\n\tSupport management with financial planning and operational decision-making.
\n\tEnsure a high standard of organisation, accuracy, and time management across all functions.<\/p>\n
