We are seeking an experienced Site Agent to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution and coordination of civil engineering projects or sections of multidisciplinary contracts, with a focus on roads, earthworks and related infrastructure. Reporting to the Senior Site Agent \/ Contracts Manager, the role provides site leadership, operational coordination and technical input to ensure projects are delivered safely, within budget and in full compliance with contractual and statutory requirements.<\/p>\n
Main Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tPlan, manage and execute civil construction works in accordance with approved programmes, drawings and specifications.
\n\tDevelop, monitor and update construction programmes, including short-term and look-ahead planning (CCS an\/or MS Projects).
\n\tLead and coordinate daily site operations across engineers, foremen, subcontractors, plant, materials and safety functions.
\n\tOversee civil works including earthworks, layerworks, roads, stormwater, services and associated infrastructure.
\n\tTranslate drawings and specifications into practical work plans, construction sequences and site execution strategies.
\n\tMonitor production outputs, plant utilisation and resource efficiency, addressing constraints and delays proactively.
\n\tEnsure implementation of method statements, risk assessments, QA\/QC procedures and quality control systems.
\n\tManage labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to achieve productivity, cost and quality objectives.
\n\tMonitor site costs, track progress and support accurate reporting, forecasting and cost control processes.
\n\tSupport the Quantity Surveyor with measurements, variation claims and commercial reporting.
\n\tEnsure compliance with construction legislation, OHSA, environmental requirements and contract conditions (GCC\/FIDIC\/JBCC).
\n\tImplement environmental management plans and ensure sustainability compliance on site.
\n\tSupport tendering and work acquisition through site feedback, constructability input and lessons learned.
\n\tFacilitate stakeholder and community engagement, including CLO coordination and public interface where required.
\n\tSupport SMME development and integration in line with project and contractual requirements.
\n\tManage project close-out, including snagging, handover, QA documentation and final accounts support.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements:<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
\t5\u20138 years\u2019 experience managing construction projects or contracts.
\n\tProven experience on civil infrastructure projects, including roads, earthworks and services.
\n\tExperience working on multidisciplinary construction projects.
\n\tStrong background in site execution, subcontractor management and contract compliance.<\/p>\n
Added Advantages:<\/p>\n
\tDegree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field.
\n\tProfessional registration as a PrCM (Professional Construction Manager) with SACPCMP or strong progress towards registration.
\n\tExperience working under GCC, NEC, FIDIC or JBCC
\n\tSound knowledge of COLTO, COTO, SANRAL and SANS
\n\tExperience with digital construction tools such as MS Projects, GPS, Total Station and mobile QA\/QC platforms.
\n\tExposure to labour-intensive public-sector projects and SMME development initiatives.<\/p>\n
