Control<\/p>\n<p>\tOwn and oversee the full payroll lifecycle (weekly and monthly)<br \/>\n\tEnsure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all payroll inputs and outputs<br \/>\n\tEstablish and enforce payroll controls, processes, and deadlines<br \/>\n\tApprove and sign off payroll prior to payment release<br \/>\n\tMonthly 3rd Party Payments (Provident, Pension, Funeral, Emp201, UIF, Garnishees)<br \/>\n\tMonthly reconciliation of GL and TB accounts<br \/>\n\tEnsure confidentiality and security of payroll information<\/p>\n<p>Statutory Compliance &amp; Risk Management<\/p>\n<p>\tEnsure full compliance with all legislative requirements (SARS, Department of Labour, etc.)<br \/>\n\tOversee submission of EMP201, EMP501, IRP5s, and other statutory returns<br \/>\n\tManage and resolve SARS queries, audits, and payroll-related investigations<br \/>\n\tEnsure correct implementation of deductions (garnishees, benefits, statutory obligations)<br \/>\n\tMonitor legislative changes and implement required updates\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Payroll Operations &amp; Systems<\/p>\n<p>\tOversee payroll systems (e.g., Sage 300 People) and time &amp; attendance platforms<br \/>\n\tEnsure system optimisation, accuracy, and process efficiency<br \/>\n\tManage relationships with payroll service providers and system vendors<br \/>\n\tDrive continuous improvement initiatives within payroll processes<br \/>\n\tEnsure integrity of clocking, leave, and payroll data integration<\/p>\n<p>Financial &amp; Analytical Oversight<\/p>\n<p>\tAnalyse payroll trends (overtime, wage variances, cost drivers)<br \/>\n\tReview and validate payroll-related financial reports and reconciliations<br \/>\n\tProcess monthly third-party payments (benefits, unions, garnishees, etc.)<br \/>\n\tProvide accurate payroll data for budgeting and forecasting<br \/>\n\tSupport audit requirements with accurate documentation and reporting<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Stakeholder Management<\/p>\n<p>\tAct as primary payroll contact for HR, Finance, and Operations<br \/>\n\tEngage with management on payroll risks, trends, and approvals<br \/>\n\tProvide guidance and training to line managers on payroll processes<br \/>\n\tEnsure clear communication regarding payroll deadlines and requirements<\/p>\n<p>Ad Hoc Duties<\/p>\n<p>\tPerform a quality check on all information received from HR<br \/>\n\tEnsure that all employment contracts are complete and accurate.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tSet and enforce payroll deadlines<br \/>\n\tOversee and sign off the effective running of the weekly and monthly payrolls<br \/>\n\tResolve escalated pay related issues<br \/>\n\tRun statutory report for annual submission for Employment Equity and Skills Development.<br \/>\n\tUpskill and educate line management on payroll processes<br \/>\n\tAdminister the Employee Self Service Portal<br \/>\n\tCalculate ad-hoc bonuses from wage negotiation<br \/>\n\tCalculate and track various wage employee incentives<br \/>\n\tCalculate and implement Annual Increases<br \/>\n\tLiaise with payroll services provider<br \/>\n\tResolve any Department of Labour queries that arise<br \/>\n\tProviding release files for payments<br \/>\n\tEnsure overtime is approvd by relevant managers<\/p>\n<p>People Management<\/p>\n<p>\tLead, develop, and manage the payroll team<br \/>\n\tEvaluate employee\u2019s performance based on deliverables and identify suitable training for employees<br \/>\n\tEnsure employees compliance with all applicable legislation as well as corporate and company procedures and policies<br \/>\n\tEnsure employees are trained and developed based on identified training needs Liaise with Training Department on all identified training gap<br \/>\n\tEnsure employees in the stores are trained in Finance procedures as identified<br \/>\n\tEnsure performance appraisals are conducted as per requirement<br \/>\n\tEnsure general discipline in the Department and ensure corrective action is taken on all misconduct incidents<br \/>\n\tAdhere to all HR policies, procedures and requirements to ensure sound people practices<br \/>\n\tMonitor team and employees moral and address any issues of concern<br \/>\n\tMotivate employee compliment<\/p>\n<p>Reporting &amp;
