RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBLIGATIONS<\/p>\n
In pursuance of these objectives, the Business Development Manager is required to:<\/p>\n
\tIdentify and secure new business opportunities;
\n\tCo-ordinating \/ packaging of solutions including costing or commercialization for potential clients;
\n\tManage relationship between clients and organization;
\n\tDevelop and implement chemical and minerals sector strategies;
\n\tIdentify and develop new products inherent in the CDC\u2019s core business
\n\tAssist in promoting the Coega SEZ to potential investors nationally and internationally;
\n\tTake responsibility for the development of the chemical and minerals sectors and its sub-sectors;
\n\tUndertake industry research and viability studies related to specific sector and its sub-sectors;
\n\tAssist in preparing proposals to investors;
\n\tUndertake competitor analysis;
\n\tAssist in risk analysis and due diligence
\n\tLiaise with industry bodies and government agencies;
\n\tIdentify potential downstream and upstream opportunities in the various sectors.
\n\tIdentify new strategic projects that the organization could pursue
\n\tDevelop business cases and strategy for strategic projects identified
\n\tPackage solutions of how these projects can be marketed to investors and government
\n\tManage relationships between the CDC and various government entities and SOE\u2019s
\n\tDrive the development and the implementation of the strategic projects and<\/p>\n
Furthermore, you are to ensure that:<\/p>\n
\tYou are aware of and have access to the CDC\u2019s SHEMS;
\n\tYou are aware of your responsibilities and duties as laid out in the CDC\u2019s SHEMS;
\n\tYou are aware that you work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner;
\n\tYou ensure that the company\u2019s housekeeping standards are maintained throughout your area of responsibility;
\n\tYou report any unsafe conditions or acts which you cannot rectify yourself to your SHE representative or to the Senior SHE Project Manager as soon as possible;
\n\tYou report all SHE incidents which occur within your area of responsibility promptly and in the correct format;
\n\tYou are totally familiar with your responsibilities in terms of the CDC\u2019s emergency plan;
\n\tYou communicate to the Senior SHE Project Manager any required changes to the SHEMS prior to implementing these changes;
\n\tYou timeously complete and correctly record any corrective action which needs to be taken in order to rectify a SHE matter;
\n\tYou give full co-operation to, and participate in (as required), the CDC\u2019s internal and external SHEMS audits.<\/p>\n
You have the authority to:<\/p>\n
\tImmediately stop any person(s) on CDC property from committing an unsafe or destructive act or omission;
\n\tTake whatever immediate steps you deem necessary to prevent injury or environmental damage when confronted with an unsafe or destructive condition.<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\tDegree in Chemical Engineering, Natural Science, any relevant or equivalent;
\n\tPost Graduate Qualification will be an added advantage;
\n\tAt least seven (7) years post qualification working experience, with 3 years in Business Development;
\n\tRelevant industry experience in manufacturing, chemicals, technology, minerals sector required;
\n\tProven work experience and applied knowledge in different sectors facilitating investment promotion and attraction initiatives;
\n\tValid Driver\u2019s license;
\n\tLeading multi-disciplinary teams;
\n\tConceptualization and development of projects and investment strategies.<\/p>\n
