Inventory Accuracy and Stock Integrity<\/p>\n
\tMonitor daily stock accuracy and investigate variances.
\n\tEnsure stock is correctly located, labelled, scanned, and recorded.
\n\tDrive corrective actions for misplaced, unidentified, or incorrectly transacted stock.
\n\tMonitor stock movements between warehouses, production areas, staging areas, and finished goods.
\n\tSupport root-cause analysis for stock losses, gains, and recurring inventory discrepancies.
\n\tEnsure stock integrity is maintained in both physical locations and the D365 system.<\/p>\n
Cycle Counts, Stock Takes, and Variance Control<\/p>\n
\tPlan and execute daily, weekly, monthly, and annual stock counts.
\n\tEnsure cycle counts are completed accurately and on time.
\n\tSupervise counting teams and verify count results.
\n\tInvestigate variances before journals are posted.
\n\tEnsure counting journals are used only for approved physical count processes.
\n\tPrepare stock take reports, variance summaries, and corrective action plans.
\n\tSupport year-end and mid-year stock take preparation and audit requirements.<\/p>\n
System Discipline and Transaction Compliance<\/p>\n
\tMonitor inventory transactions in D365, including transfers, adjustments, receipts, picking, staging, and stock movements.
\n\tEnsure warehouse teams follow approved scanning and system processes.
\n\tInvestigate system-related stock mismatches and transaction errors.
\n\tEnsure stock adjustment journals are used only for approved own-use, write-off, or correction processes.
\n\tEscalate system process failures and recommend improvements.
\n\tTrain team members on correct inventory transaction procedures.<\/p>\n
Warehouse Control, Housekeeping, and Process Improvement<\/p>\n
\tEnsure stock locations are organised, clean, clearly identified, and accessible.
\n\tMonitor put-away discipline and ensure stock is placed in correct locations.
\n\tSupport FIFO, FEFO, batch control, and traceability where applicable.
\n\tIdentify slow-moving, obsolete, damaged, or excess stock for review.
\n\tRecommend layout, storage, and process improvements to reduce inventory risk.
\n\tWork with warehouse, production, planning, procurement, and outbound teams to resolve inventory issues.
\n\tPromote a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.<\/p>\n
People Supervision, Reporting, and Stakeholder Support<\/p>\n
\tSupervise inventory control staff and counting teams.
\n\tAllocate daily tasks and monitor performance.
\n\tCoach employees on correct stock handling and inventory control practices.
\n\tPrepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
\n\tEscalate major stock risks, process failures, and unresolved variances.
\n\tSupport internal and external audit requests.
\n\tAttend inventory meetings and provide updates on key actions.
\n\tBuild strong working relationships with production, warehouse, finance, procurement, planning, and transport teams.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 \/ Matric and a relevant Diploma or Certificate would be advantageous.
\n\tFor internal candidates, proven experience in inventory, warehousing, stock control, or supply chain operations, together with demonstrated competence in the role, may be considered as equivalent to formal educational requirements.
\n\t3\u20135 years\u2019 experience in inventory control, warehousing, stock control, or supply chain operations.
\n\tSupervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment would be advantageous.
\n\tExperience in textile, manufacturing, or distribution environments would be beneficial.<\/p>\n
Systems and Technical Skills<\/p>\n
\tWorking knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP\/WMS system.
\n\tGood Microsoft Excel skills.
\n\tUnderstanding of stock journals, transfers, cycle counts, warehouse locations, and inventory reconciliation.
\n\tAbility to read and interpret stock reports and variance data.
\n\tUnderstanding of warehouse scanning processes and stock movement controls.<\/p>\n
