Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tErect and install steel structures, gantries, and support frameworks for substations
\n\tInstall electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, isolators, and busbars
\n\tInterpret and work from construction drawings, layouts, and technical specifications
\n\tPerform mechanical assembly, alignment, and installation of substation components
\n\tAssist with cable tray installation, cable pulling, and preparation for terminations
\n\tEnsure compliance with all safety regulations, procedures, and site requirements
\n\tSafely operate lifting equipment (e.g., cranes, hoists) and apply proper rigging techniques
\n\tConduct basic inspections, fault-finding, and rectification of installations
\n\tCollaborate with supervisors, engineers, and commissioning teams
\n\tMaintain tools, equipment, and high housekeeping standards on-site<\/p>\n

\tReports to:\u00a0Site Supervisor\/Construction Manager\/Site Agent<\/p>\n

\tOutdoor construction environment
\n\tExposure to heights, heavy lifting, and varying weather conditions

Minimum Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tPreferably Grade 12; however, not essential
\n\tTrade Qualification (e.g., Boilermaker, Rigger, Electrician, or equivalent) \u2013 preferred
\n\tRelevant certifications: The company will assist in renewing expired training certificates if required.<\/p>\n
Experience Required:<\/p>\n
\t3-8 years\u2019 experience in substation construction or a similar heavy industrial environment
\n\tProven experience in erecting high-voltage substation structures (132 kV, 275 kV, and 400 kV preferred)
\n\tPractical experience with cranes, rigging equipment, and structural assembly
\n\tFamiliarity with Eskom or similar utility standards (advantageous in South Africa)<\/p>\n
