MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION<\/p>\n
\tOperational support to Broadcast Clients (internal and external) in order to plan\/setup\/prepare\/record and playout of broadcast material in support of all platforms with expected standards and available facilities\/ equipment<\/p>\n
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES<\/p>\n
\tContribute to operational submissions to Line Manager with regard to Business Unit Strategy input in alignment with the Corporate Plan and the Target Operating Model.
\n\tContribute to Opex Plans
\n\tOpex involvement to input into the project scope development
\n\tParticipate in Capex project and system execution and operational workflows to deliver on functional requirements and avoid on-air disruptions
\n\tContributions of Minor Capex & Opex inputs into departmental budget
\n\tOpex contribution to ensure maintenance and systems sustainability
\n\tAssist the Specialist with marketable Sound\/Video skills ensuring alternative Revenue Streams, eg CD Artists Recording, Font of House, Webinars, External Live Broadcasts, etc as per external tariff list
\n\tAgreed % of targets met; Agreed % of resources, equipment and facility availability
\n\tAbove average rating of SLA
\n\tSubmission of ad-hoc incidence fault reports and resolutions to line manager as required
\n\tAdhere to service delivery standards
\n\tAccurate monthly reporting on deliverables (broadcast, recording, production and post production), non-conformance & flagging of potential risks with provided solutions\/mitigations
\n\tCoordinate operational production requirements
\n\tSetup, test and operate facility equipment
\n\tRecord as per SOP music\/choir and liaise with the music producer and\/or conductor; for church recording laisse with the church representative and\/or the priest; and for documentary\/ speech recording liaise with the station producers).
\n\tSetup and operate camera and Live View for News and external broadcasts
\n\tUnderstanding of mic placements and industry best practises.
\n\tIn the field recordings, mixing and front-of-house for all audio requirements
\n\tRecord multi-layered drama productions with FX, music and different audio streams
\n\tPerform recordings in accordance with customer requirements and broadcast standards
\n\tMonitoring of sound quality during recordings to ensure compliance with broadcast standards
\n\tMonitor for schedule changes as per customer request
\n\tMonitor sound\/video quality to broadcast standards
\n\tRecord distributions in line with archiving best practice
\n\tSetup mix-minus
\n\tOperating digital playout systems
\n\tAudio\/Visual manipulation of final mix, performed in accordance with customer requirements & broadcast standards (if necessary)
\n\tOn time delivery of production material, within scope & within specifications
\n\tSetup and operate Broadcast Communication conferencing with multi-layer contributions
\n\tContribute to the specification requirements in line with customer requirements & Company Procurement policy & procedures
\n\tEscalate Risk findings reported with corrective treatment plans
\n\tEnsure adherence to OHS and compliance with SABC Company Policies & Procedures
\n\tMaintain discipline in accordance with company policies & procedures
\n\t95% of assets verified annually
\n\tEffective control of all assets falling within area of control and outside broadcasts.
\n\tCustomers served in operational proficient, friendly and helpful manner
\n\tMaintain compliance of services rendered with customer request and address non-conformance
\n\tOperational assistance & guidance to customers regarding capability of facilities and to provide best operational options
\n\tCompliance with performance management policies and procedures
\n\tPerformance agreements with manager annually
\n\tFormal reviews conducted with manager and documented as per deadlines (Quarterly)
\n\tAd-hoc operational presentation and training (In-house) provided on an ongoing basis<\/p>\n
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
\tSound Engineering Certificate (1 year & above) or Film\/Video Technology or Relevant Qualification
\n\tAdvantage: Sound Engineering Diploma (3 years) (NQF Level 6)
\n\tDriver\u2019s License: C1 (Code 10) with PDP
\n\tMinimum 5 years\u2019 experience in broadcast environment, minimum of 3 years on Operator level with relevant experience in Digital Sound & Video within live, production and post production environment.<\/p>\n
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS<\/p>\n
\tExcellent communication skills and ability to work in a team and lead the team if required.
\n\tProficiency in MS Office, i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point.
\n\tAbility to work under pressure and handle conflict
\n\tWillingness to work irregular hours and shifts to sustain 24\/7 on-air facility environment<\/p>\n
