MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n
\tA senior Certificate (Grade 12 Matric)
\n\tA minimum of three (3) years relevant experience.
\n\tMust be a qualified Installation or Maintenance Electrician (Light Current).<\/p>\n
ADVANTAGEOUS:<\/p>\n
\tTraining in generator and or UPS Certifications.
\n\tKnowledge of SANS 10142 electrical installation standards.<\/p>\n
\u00a0KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
Coordination<\/p>\n
\tCoordinate maintenance activities and ensure resources are available to perform assigned work.
\n\tInterpret site requirements relating to planned maintenance, fault finding, and repair activities.
\n\tLiaise with the E&M Manager to confirm requirements against work orders and maintenance schedules.
\n\tCommunicate with the warehouse and logistics teams to ensure correct tools, components, and materials are issued.
\n\tVerify that equipment and materials received correspond with the incident ticket or maintenance request.
\n\tCoordinate with other technicians during team-based maintenance operations.
\n\tProviding structured updates to business stakeholders during high-priority or operations-impacting incidents.
\n\tTranslating technical system failures into business impact language.
\n\tSupporting cross-functional integration initiatives and system upgrades.<\/p>\n
Planned Preventative Maintenance & Cleaning<\/p>\n
\tVisit technical shelters and infrastructure sites according to maintenance schedules.
\n\tPerform routine cleaning, housekeeping, and tidying tasks according to maintenance checklists.
\n\tInspect all electrical, mechanical, and civil\/building components.
\n\tIdentify defects, abnormal readings, or potential failures.
\n\tRecord findings and implement corrective measures where possible.
\n\tEnsure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.<\/p>\n
Fault Finding and Repairs<\/p>\n
\tDiagnose faults affecting technical shelters, power supply infrastructure, and mechanical systems.<\/p>\n
Rectify faults including:<\/p>\n
\tMinor civil repairs
\n\tCorrosion protection and paint touch-ups
\n\tReplacement of lighting equipment
\n\tReporting faults on mechanical components such as roller shutter doors.<\/p>\n
Perform fault finding within electrical installations, including:<\/p>\n
\tIsolation of electrical circuits
\n\tReplacement of defective components
\n\tCable stripping, cleaning, jointing, and termination
\n\tPerform repairs with strict adherence to electrical safety procedures for live environments.
\n\tTest and confirm functionality of repaired or replaced components.
\n\tCommunicate equipment readiness to resume operations.
\n\tEscalating risks before service impact becomes critical.<\/p>\n
Monitoring, Incident Management and Service Desk Support<\/p>\n
\tLog maintenance incidents and service requests with the Service Desk.
\n\tEscalate complex faults to the Facilities Supervisor or relevant technical teams.
\n\tRecord unresolved issues in the Gantry Inspection Sheet or relevant maintenance documentation.
\n\tProvide feedback on recurring faults or infrastructure risks.<\/p>\n
Information Recording, Reporting & Documentation<\/p>\n
\tComplete Technical Shelter Inspection Checklists and related documentation.
\n\tRecord equipment readings, faults, actions taken, and observations during inspections.<\/p>\n
Maintain accurate records of:<\/p>\n
\tElectrical readings (mains voltage, UPS output current, generator readings).
\n\tMechanical equipment performance.
\n\tInfrastructure defects or abnormalities.
\n\tSubmit completed reports to the Facilities Supervisor for review and processing.
\n\tCapture unresolved issues in the Service Desk system.
\n\tEnsure maintenance documentation is audit-ready and compliant with internal control requirements.
\n\tSupport internal and external audits by providing relevant maintenance documentation and operational records.<\/p>\n
