Purpose of the Job<\/p>\n
\tTo manage and oversee Distribution Finished Goods and Raw Materials warehousing operations at Modderfontein in terms of safe storage, accurate stock movements, internal transport, security and other logistics to ensure on time in full delivery.<\/p>\n
Required outputs: Functional<\/p>\n
Budget Control<\/p>\n
\tManage the operating expense budget \u00a0for allocated cost centres Set the capital budget for the next year with the Maintenance Coordinator
\n\tEvaluate and approve purchase requests
\n\tConduct a monthly review of costs and operating expenses
\n\tPut actions in place to reduce expenditure as needed
\n\tJustify over expenditure<\/p>\n
Comply with Safety, Health and Environment standards<\/p>\n
\tEnsure systems are in place for safe operations such as operating instructions
\n\tOversee general housekeeping
\n\tObtain audit results from SHEQ manager
\n\tAction any items allocated as a result of audit
\n\tConduct regular walkabouts to highlight SHE issues
\n\tInspect the Modderfontein magazines two or three times a week and make observations
\n\tDemonstrate SHE leadership by participate in the respective process by modelling appropriate SHE behaviour (e.g. driving safely, not walking without holding handrails etc.)<\/p>\n
Quality management (on time, in full)<\/p>\n
\tOversee operations in terms of stock, transport, security and all other logistics to ensure on time in full delivery
\n\tResolve any escalations or queries received
\n\tProvide feedback to sales and marketing team
\n\tIdentify opportunities to improve process efficiencies
\n\tReview processes and procedures regularly
\n\tConduct root cause analysis on issues and identify resolutions
\n\tCheck adherence to legal requirements before implementing any changes<\/p>\n
Stock control and stock management<\/p>\n
\tManage the areas that are doing stock control
\n\tCheck adherence to first in first out (FIFO) principles
\n\tEnsure that weekly cycle counts are done in accordance with program on all products on all magazines
\n\tAuthorise all weekly cycle count results within Limits of Authority
\n\tInvestigate any exceptions with distribution office
\n\tPut processes and procedures in place for proper stock control for example checkpoints, balancing etc.<\/p>\n
People management and development<\/p>\n
\tSelect, assign, lead and manage people
\n\tSet clear objectives for self and others and measure achievements against these objectives
\n\tTrain, mentor and coach subordinates
\n\tManage employee performance
\n\tMaintain employee relations
\n\tDelegate work to subordinates<\/p>\n
Adherence to legislative requirements<\/p>\n
\tAct as Executive Officer for Site in terms of Section 16(2) of the OHS Act no 85 of 1993
\n\tEnsure compliance to the Explosives Act and Regulations for the handling & storage of Explosives<\/p>\n
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Requirements<\/p>\n
\tMinimum: 3-5 years\u2019 experience in warehouse inventory management. \u00a0Degree or diploma in supply chain \/ logistics \/ similar
\n\tAdvantageous: Formal qualification in Explosives Management. SAP knowledge preferred
\n\t\u00a0<\/p>\n
