\tTo carry out electrical diagnostics, maintenance, repairs and installations of plant and equipment in a safe, efficient and compliant manner, ensuring maximum equipment availability and operational reliability.<\/p>\n

RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
Electrical Maintenance and Repairs<\/p>\n
\tDiagnose, repair and maintain electrical systems on heavy mining equipment, light vehicles and ancillary plant.
\n\tPerform fault-finding on starter motors, alternators, wiring harnesses, sensors, control units and electronic systems.
\n\tInstall, repair, and maintain lighting systems, safety alarms, monitoring systems and communication equipment.
\n\tConduct preventative maintenance in line with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards and maintenance schedules.<\/p>\n
Diagnostic and Troubleshooting<\/p>\n
\tUse diagnostic tools and software to identify electrical faults.
\n\tInterpret wiring diagrams, schematics and technical manuals
\n\tIdentify root causes of failures and recommend corrective and preventative actions.<\/p>\n
Compliance and Safety<\/p>\n
\tAdhere to Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA), company policies and site-specific safety procedures.
\n\tEnsure work is performed in a safe, environmentally responsible manner.
\n\tComplete job cards, inspections, and safety documentation accurately and timeously.
\n\tParticipate in risk assessments, toolbox talks, safety meetings.<\/p>\n
Equipment and Tool Management<\/p>\n
\tEnsure proper use, care, and accountability of tools, diagnostic equipment, and company assets.
\n\tReport defects, damage, or unsafe equipment promptly.
\n\tCollaboration and Support
\n\tWork closely with Artisans, Technicians, Operators, and Supervisors to ensure equipment availability.
\n\tProvide technical support and guidance to Apprentices and Assistants as and when required.
\n\tParticipate in breakdowns, shutdowns and planned maintenance activities.<\/p>\n
Continuous Improvement<\/p>\n
\tIdentify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
\n\tKeep up-to-date with new technologies and industry best practices.
\n\tSupport continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 \/ N3 Engineering Studies
\n\tTrade Test Certificate:\u00a0 Auto Electrician (Red Seal \/ Section 13 or 28)<\/p>\n
EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\tMinimum three years post-trade experience as a qualified Auto Electrician
\n\tExperience in mining, construction, heavy equipment, and industrial environment preferred
\n\tStrong knowledge of automotive and mining equipment and electrical systems
\n\tProficient in fault-finding using diagnostic tools and software
\n\tAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams
\n\tUnderstanding of PLCs, CAN-bus systems, and electronic control units (advantageous)<\/p>\n
