\tDis-Chem Pharmacies require the services of a reputable Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant for their Princess Mkabayi store. Your portfolio will cover the provision of pharmaceutical care by taking responsibility for the patient’s medicine-related needs, and being accountable for meeting these needs.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 \/ Matric
\n\tBasic Pharmacist Assistance qualification
\n\tRegistered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)<\/p>\n
Advantageous:<\/p>\n
\tKnowledge of Retail\/ FMCG operations
\n\t3rd Additional Language
\n\tKnowledge of or experience in SAP and E-Scripting
\n\tDrug and family planning, and complementary medicine<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tAssist with\u00a0the sale of Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 medicines or scheduled substances
\n\tAssist with the compounding, manipulation or preparation of a non-sterile medicine or scheduled substance according to a formula and standard operating procedures approved by the responsible pharmacist
\n\tAssist with the manufacturing of a non-sterile medicine or scheduled substance according to a formula and standard operating procedures approved by the responsible pharmacist
\n\tAssist with\u00a0re-packaging of medicine
\n\tAssist with\u00a0the distribution and control of the stock of Schedule 1 to Schedule 5 medicines or scheduled substances
\n\tAssist with\u00a0the ordering of medicine and scheduled substances up to, and including, Schedule 6 according to an instruction of a person authorised in terms of the Medicines Act to purchase or obtain such medicine or scheduled substance
\n\tAssist with the reading and preparation of a prescription\u2019 the selection, manipulation or compounding of the medicine; the labelling and supply of the medicine, in an appropriate container following the interpretation and evaluation of the prescription by a pharmacist
\n\tAccurately interpret scripts and act in a professional and responsible manner and within the legal requirements in accordance with the SAPC
\n\tCapture script details accurately, and verify patients\u2019 details on the system
\n\tEnsure accurate picking \/packing\/labelling and checking of medication and be aware of common dosages as well as important drug interactions
\n\tGive accurate instructions to patients regarding the correct use of medicine supplied
\n\tKeep abreast of changes in medical aid procedures and requirements for claims and dispensing
\n\tEnsure all medications are checked for accuracy by and signed by a pharmacist
\n\tAdvise and assist patients at the dispensary, self-medication and front-shop
\n\tFollow up with patients regarding script tracking report as requested by the dispensary manager, and follow up on appointments
\n\tExplain medical aid costs to patients
\n\tProvide information to individuals in order to promote health
\n\tProcess all paperwork necessary for the accurate submission of claims to medical aids
\n\tCorrect errors on scripts rejected by medical aid
\n\tEnsure authorisation of chronic, HIV and AIDS and oncology medication
\n\tMaintain customer profiles on the system
\n\tMerge profiles locally and UCS should be notified to merge profiles centrally
\n\tTake note of any message on the customer profile, and take suitable action
\n\tReport on low \/ out of stock levels, and stock errors to the dispensary manager
\n\tReceive dispensary stock in accordance with Dis-Chem\u2019s SOPs, and merchandise according to FEFO
\n\tFacilitate bi-annual stock takes
\n\tExercise stock, cash and asset control<\/p>\n
