Job Description <\/p>\n
\tTo manage a team of draughtspersons in producing drawings to achieve project objectives.
\n\tDrawing Office (DO) set-up on projects per Company standards and procedures
\n\tBudget management forecast and reporting on design office resource requirements
\n\tIdentify Project Drawing Office resource forecast requirements and communicating these requirements to Project, and Functional Management
\n\tCompilation and maintenance of the Drawing Register
\n\tDrawing office administration
\n\tForecast and monthly reporting on progress in accordance with the project execution plan, and advising deviations and corrective actions to the Project Engineer
\n\tGenerate and issue monthly reports listing key drawing office metrics
\n\tUndertake actual draughting work where\/when required
\n\tProject change management:
\n\tRegister all deviations to standard budget through change control procedure
\n\tRevise project plan to reflect time changes in project scope and deliverables
\n\tProject close-out and arranging for archiving
\n\tProvide input into man-hour\/register generation for tenders complete with a write-up on strategy, assumptions, inclusions and exclusions<\/p>\n
Perform tasks in compliance with Company Systems, Standards and Procedures <\/p>\n
\tAdhere to standards<\/p>\n
Promote the company\u2019s image and team cohesion through effective communication and liaison <\/p>\n
\tActively promote the Company’s professional image, both internally & externally.
\n\tMaintain effective inter-departmental communication.<\/p>\n

\tMaintain effective DO departmental and inter-project communication by:
\n\tEnsuring DO departmental representation at relevant internal project and inter-departmental meetings
\n\tEncouraging inter-departmental communication<\/p>\n
Innovation <\/p>\n
\tReview industry norms\/practices and technologies from time-to-time
\n\tIdentify and implement continuous improvements initiatives<\/p>\n
Manage administration <\/p>\n
\tMaintain personal administration.
\n\tCompile and manage man-hour budgets for discipline
\n\tIssue data to relevant parties on request
\n\tDistribute and expedite information coming into and out of Project DO
\n\tGenerate final Project DO records and close-out report
\n\tAssist with Project DO Clerical duties where necessary<\/p>\n
Manage design office personnel <\/p>\n
\tDevelop job specs and generate call forward schedule
\n\tControl DO resourcing of project daily<\/p>\n
Ensure Personal Performance For Technical Responsibilities <\/p>\n
\tPerform site visits.
\n\tObtain feedback from Project Engineer and Lead Engineers
\n\tCheck engineering 2D drawings or 3D models
\n\tGive feedback to draughtsperson for changes
\n\tEnsure drawings that are generated are fit-for-purpose while containing the appropriate amount of detail<\/p>\n
Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS <\/p>\n
\tMultiple discipline drawing office practice certificate, a completed N6 and gained practical work experience in mineral processing plants.<\/p>\n
Skills And Experience <\/p>\n
\tA proven track record of 10 – 15 years plus experience in discipline specific drawing design\/draughting within a mineral processing or petrochemical plant projects environment, Most of the experience should ideally have been gained in a mineral processing background.
\n\tExperience should ideally be balanced between feasibility studies, project execution
\n\tExperience in managing other draughtspersons and interfacing with project team members outside of the DO.
\n\tTechnical Draughting – To generate graphical deliverables from an engineering design
\n\tCAE Software – Ability to use software including setting up systems, procedures and guidelines e.g. AutoCAD
\n\tEngineering and Draughting – Knowledge of models and\/or draughting environment including applications\/interfaces and products across the disciplines
\n\tLegislation & Standards – Knowledge of sector specific law and knowledge standard specifications and the ability to integrate these standards
\n\tContinuous interface with other drawing office disciplines to resolve matters\/clashes\/interfaces
\n\tRegularly requests information or inputs required to advance work from engineers
\n\tRegularly questions incorrect\/sub-optimal designs\/solutions for the greater good of the project and proposes alternatives
\n\tExtremely dedicated and committed to project and Company success
\n\tTakes deadlines very serious and submits reasons and action plans well in advance should it become apparent that deadlines cannot be met
\n\tAble to work independently with no or minimal guidance and direction
\n\tHeld in very high esteem by colleagues and seen as an authority in his\/her discipline. Often approached by peers for advice or guidance.<\/p>\n
