Job Summary<\/p>\n
\tThis role involves the safe and efficient operation of Bell logging equipment at the sawmill, including daily equipment inspections, manoeuvring machinery in tight spaces, and maintaining constant awareness of surroundings while coordinating with team members to support safe and productive operations.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities and Duties<\/p>\n
\tConduct daily pre\u2011operation checks, including fuel, engine oil, and hydraulic oil levels and a full 360\u2011degree equipment inspection to ensure safe operation
\n\tSafely operate Bell logging and related heavy machinery while navigating tight spaces within the sawmill premises
\n\tManage and manoeuvre logs on site, including sorting timber, maintaining continuous log flow, and feeding the mill\u2019s production line
\n\tLoad and unload trucks as required
\n\tRemain alert at all times, coordinating with team members and responding to hand signals to support safe and efficient operations
\n\tPerform daily machine maintenance and report any defects or safety concerns<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Skills<\/p>\n
\tMatric \/ Grade 12
\n\tExperience within a sawmill or forestry industry
\n\tExperience on agricultural equipment and vehicles (such as Bell 225 Loggers)
\n\tValid Bell Logger Certificate
\n\tValid Driver\u2019s License (Code 08)
\n\tAble to safely operate heavy equipment
\n\tGood communication skills
\n\tGood listener and verbal communicator
\n\tAbility to work effectively within a team
\n\tGood organising skills<\/p>\n
