The Intermediate Control & Automation Engineer provides support to the Senior Control & Automation Engineer and the Project Engineering Manager and will be part of a team of systems and process control engineers and designers. The Intermediate Control & Automation Engineer assists in design as well as the resolution of all technical and team issues related to the discipline.<\/p>\n
Key Responsbilities<\/p>\n
\tDevelop a thorough understanding of the project requirements as they relate to scope, cost and schedule
\n\tPrepare a list of engineering deliverables and time-based functions to facilitate the planning and control of the engineering budget
\n\tAssist and maintain the project\u2019s scope of work documentation and revise as required during the design evolution
\n\tAssist in the preparation and development of project specific procedures
\n\tDefine the system requirements to achieve the project results and monitor effectiveness
\n\tSchedule, coordinate and participate in S&PC design reviews
\n\tSchedule, coordinate and participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL and other process safety reviews
\n\tEnsure coordination, between the S&PC team and other disciplines, of all activities being performed as the design evolves
\n\tEnsure that quality audits of engineering work are carried out in accordance with project procedures and the Quality Assurance Plan as documented in the PEP
\n\tPromote and maintain the application of ethical and professional practices in the execution of S&PC engineering work
\n\tEnsure that all work designed, manufactured and supplied in the S&PC engineering discipline complies with the relevant sections of the region-specific occupational health and safety laws or acts
\n\tActively promote value engineering with particular emphasis on energy management.\u00a0
\n\tKeep track of lessons learned and publish to lesson learned database
\n\tEnsure that any of the S&PC team members required to participate in site-based work or activities are informed of the safety requirements with respect to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), specific site hazards and requirements and travel arrangements
\n\tEncourage an attitude of engagement with the risk mitigation strategies and initiatives employed by Hatch on the projects
\n\tLead by example with respect to safety and designing for safety and encourage all team members to support this process
\n\tAlways be on the lookout for business opportunities for S&PC type work and promote Hatch capabilities.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n
Essential<\/p>\n
\tA recognized degree in electric\/electronic\/relevant engineering from an accredited college or university or a technical qualification with extensive practical experience would also be acceptable\u00a0
\n\tExperience working on large projects in a multidisciplinary environment. Familiar with team building and able to confidently apply these principles\u00a0
\n\tAbility to lead individuals in a team environment to attain quality, cost and schedule objectives\u00a0
\n\tStrong deliverables focus\u00a0
\n\tAbility to plan the work\u00a0
\n\tA high degree of understanding of interdisciplinary dependencies related to the discipline\u00a0
\n\tGood understanding of procurement, contracting and commissioning methodologies\u00a0
\n\tTechnical exposure to the equipment technologies related to the project\u00a0
\n\tGood understanding of Hatch systems and workflows as they relate to the S&PC discipline\u00a0
\n\tThorough understanding of Hatch\u2019s Health, Safety, Environment, and Community (HSEC) policy and standards\u00a0
\n\tStrong leadership skills\u00a0
\n\tWell developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Preferred<\/p>\n
\tRegistration as, or in the process of registering as a professional engineer or technician\/technologist with the relevant regions professional engineering body\u00a0
\n\tMinimum 7 years of project engineering experience
\n\tKnowledge of Hatch\u2019s 3D data centric design systems\u00a0
\n\tExtensive knowledge of Hatch\u2019s engineering management systems\u00a0
\n\tStrong ability to manage tasks and promote the effective performance of team members\u00a0
\n\tSound technical experience of the major equipment\u00a0
\n\tExtensive experience in the use of procedures and workflows in the execution of projects
\n\tStrong client focus.\u00a0
