Job Purpose<\/p>\n
\tTo provide corrective technical maintenance support to the customer during the warranty period and ensure performance targets are achieved in line with customer requirements. Guide and assist the customer on corrective maintenance after the warranty period.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Technical Support<\/p>\n
\tCollaborate and support the Engineering Department in analyzing train-related technical problems and faults and propose effective maintenance solutions.
\n\tGuide and support the customer (e.g., Drivers and the technical fleet management) in resolving emergencies that arise during service operations.<\/p>\n
Support the customer in corrective maintenance execution by:<\/p>\n
\tCoaching and training the customer on the maintenance procedures, as outlined in the contractual agreement.
\n\tPrepare trains for service through functional testing and applying train diagnostic methods, tools, and resources (e.g., Condition-Based Fault Monitoring (CFM), on-board computerised equipment, working manuals, troubleshooting guide and train system expertise.\u00a0
\n\tReport all the defects identified during commercial services to facilitate the creation of service orders for defect resolution.<\/p>\n
Maintenance Execution<\/p>\n
\tTroubleshoot and repair the Gibela Rolling Stock, in compliance with specified quality procedures and standards.
\n\tPerform manual tasks and when required, work on powered up trains while strictly adhering to safety precautions and controls.
\n\tComply with Health, Safety and Quality procedures as specified by legislation and the company\u2019s Health and Safety policies.
\n\tPerform functional testing of the train to ensure readiness for service. Apply diagnostics tools, onboard computerised equipment, working manuals, troubleshooting guides and train system expertise to resolve root causes and defects.
\n\tConduct high speed testing and deploy trains to other depots as required.
\n\tAttend regular team briefings to report on progress, address issues and highlight challenges encountered during the shift.
\n\tReport accidents or incidents on a going basis.
\n\tDrive company vehicles when required and applicable.
\n\tTrain and mentor new team members.
\n\tAssist the Reliability team and the Field Engineer to understand the root causes of complex failures.
\n\tUpdate the Service Execution System (SES) upon task completion.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements<\/p>\n
\tDiploma in Electrical, Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
\n\t1 – 3 Years Maintenance and technical engineering experience preferably in the rail industry e.g. testing, use of tools and schematics.
\n\t2 Years troubleshooting experience.<\/p>\n
Special Requirements<\/p>\n
\tIncumbent will be required to perform tasks at heights.
\n\tIncumbent will be required to work overtime and shifts.
\n\tIncumbent may be required to travel occasionally<\/p>\n
