Main Focus Areas<\/p>\n
\tTo ensure the delivering of quality nursing care in a safe environment by supporting and educating personnel and management in the prevention, identification, and control of infection. Patients, staff, and the environment should be managed through the implementation of an effective and efficient infection control management plan\/program.
\n\tTo provide orientation to new staff.
\n\tTo provide ongoing training and development regarding policies, principles, and procedures.
\n\tTo assist and work in close collaboration with the Quality Manager regarding occupational health and safety matters (WCA).
\n\tTo contribute actively to teamwork and ensure efficiency of the team on a continuous basis.
\n\tTo develop, implement, and evaluate quality improvement programs in infection control on a a continuous basis
\n\tTo develop hospital infection control strategies and develop skills in: infectious disease management, clinical and environmental microbiology, epidemiology and statistics.<\/p>\n
Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)<\/p>\n
\tRegistered as a Professional Nurse with SANC.
\n\tRelevant training\/certification in infection prevention and control, will be an advantage.
\n\tRelevant experience in occupational health and safety, will be an advantage.
\n\tStrong clinical knowledge in a private hospital setting.
\n\tLeadership skills and abilities.
\n\tGood troubleshooting skills and able to utilize initiative.
\n\tIntermediate computer literacy<\/p>\n
