\tBidvest Tank Terminals has an opportunity for a Security Manager. This opportunity exists within the Operations Support Department, based in Durban, reporting to the Operations Support Director. The candidate has to meet the following minimum criteria.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in security management or a related field.
\n\t5 years of experience in security management.
\n\tISPS qualification is required.
\n\tGood understanding of SHEQ systems (OHSAS18001, ISO14001 & ISO9001) would be advantageous.
\n\tMinimum of 3 years’ experience in the field of Port Security management, preferably in the chemical\/ petrochemical industry<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0
\nMain purpose of the Job<\/p>\n
\tThe incumbent in this position will direct BTT’s security functions, including physical security and safety of employees, facilities, and assets. To build and cement relationships and network with the relevant authorities, i.e. Cutler, TNPA, etc.<\/p>\n
The successful candidate will engage in the following activities:<\/p>\n
\tDevelop and implement the BTT security strategy to ensure compliance with national and international security standards, i.e., ISPS codes etc.
\n\tPlan, direct, and coordinate security activities to safeguard BTT assets, customer products, employees, and visitors.
\n\tDevelop, implement, and manage security procedures to protect personnel against harassment, threats, or violence in line with the code of ethics.
\n\tDevelop or review security service level agreements (SLAs) between BTT and Bidvest Protea Coin, Intellisec, Marshal Security, EHK Advisory Services, etc.
\n\tParticipate and play a role in PIMAD drills and Major Emergency exercises.
\n\tDevelop and manage investigation processes, including the collection and preservation of video and notes of surveillance processes or investigative interviews.
\n\tConduct security site visits at regions and ensure all non-conformances are corrected immediately.
\n\tTrack and provide feedback on corrective and preventative action from all security-related audits.
\n\tAnalyse and evaluate security operations to identify risks or opportunities for improvements.
\n\tEnsure Security Risk Assessments are completed and reviewed quarterly.
\n\tManage and provide leadership to subordinate Port Facility Security Officers (PFSOs).
\n\tEnsure that department and individual performance charters are loaded on Scientrix and LMS.
\n\tDevelop and manage the security budget.
\n\tAttend stakeholder meetings to keep abreast of new technologies impacting security.<\/p>\n
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:<\/p>\n
\tComprehensive knowledge of ISPS Codes and the National Ports Act.
\n\tAttention to detail and strong observational abilities.
\n\tExcellent verbal and written communication skills.
\n\tKnowledge of Policy and legislation relating to Security Risks.
\n\tFamiliarity with security systems and surveillance equipment.
\n\tStrong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
\n\tUphold a strong sense of ethics and integrity in handling confidential information and making critical decisions.
\n\tAdvanced computer literacy and internet skills.<\/p>\n
