This will include but is not limited to new medical equipment, preventative services, and repair and maintenance within legal specifications.<\/p>\n<p>Operational efficiencies<\/p>\n<p>\tEnsure adequate nursing resources, nursing hours aligned to acuities and skill mix to execute prescribed treatment plans in accordance with the Incorporated Practice (INC) administration agreement.<br \/>\n\tEnsure duty rosters and electronic clocking is maintained and signed off on a weekly\/monthly basis for nursing agency and permanent staff.<br \/>\n\tEnsure availability of all medical and non-medical consumables in accordance with the procurement policies and procedures.<br \/>\n\tEnsure effective management and recording of schedule 5 &#8211; 6 drug registers in accordance with legislation.<br \/>\n\tManage and ensure correct patient data and records on the Electronic Healthcare Record and all manual and electronic platforms.<br \/>\n\tEnsure POPIA compliance.<br \/>\n\tRecord and manage maintenance of medical equipment and ensure services are done as per the relevant SOP\u2019s and equipment requirements.<br \/>\n\tImplement and ensure compliance to systems, standard operating procedures and policies within the clinical areas according to and legislation.<\/p>\n<p>Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) management<\/p>\n<p>\tImplement the regulatory framework governing clinical practice within the area of responsibility.<br \/>\n\tConduct SHEQ risk assessment as part of Risk Management team including the Nursing risk matrix to identify and report on risks within clinical areas, implement control measures and evaluate effectiveness of control measures.<br \/>\n\tInvestigate non-compliance to safety and control measures, perform root cause analysis and implement remedial actions to mitigate accordingly.<br \/>\n\tMonitor safety standards in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations (Act No 85 of 1993 as amended) within clinical and other relevant areas.<br \/>\n\tEnsure the disposal of Healthcare risk waste (HCRW) and human tissue in accordance with legislation.<br \/>\n\tImplement, monitor and report on the workforce surveillance programme according to Group strategy.<br \/>\n\tMonitor and review environmental surveillance testing as required to support Infection, prevention and control practices.<br \/>\n\tMaintain and sustain the Quality Management System and related health care standards as required to retain ISO 9001 certification.<br \/>\n\tIdentify quality improvement opportunities and ensure appropriate strategy and Quality Improvement initiatives are developed and measured.<br \/>\n\tProvide input in formulating Standard Operating Procedures in the Nursing department.<br \/>\n\tImplement Group quality initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>BEST AND SAFEST PATIENT CARE<\/p>\n<p>Person Centred Health and Care<\/p>\n<p>\tServe as a clinical resource in assisting personnel to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, document and record nursing care in the unit according to the execution of the prescribed treatment plan.<br \/>\n\tEnsure communication and interaction with patient, family and health professionals regarding optimal patient care, thereby acting as a patient advocate when necessary.<br \/>\n\tEnsure communication between nursing staff, Health professionals, management and unit to eliminate patient care problems \/ issues.<br \/>\n\tEnsure that all nursing staff provides a quality customer care service enhancing the patient journey and experience within the area of responsibility according to their scope of practice.<br \/>\n\tEnsure accurate medication administration, compliance to Safe medication administration SOP and oversee activities to ensure the elimination of medication administration errors.<br \/>\n\tEnsure that protocols of professionals are always adhered to and aligned to the relevant clinical scope of practice, policies, and procedures as well as legislative body requirements.<br \/>\n\tAssist and support clinic reception and all clinical departments as and when required with clinical related tasks.<br \/>\n\tInvestigate and report to National and Regional teams all near misses and negative clinical incidents and ensure appropriate root cause analysis, remedial actions and capturing on Incident Management System (IMS).<br \/>\n\tEnsuring the basic principles of infection prevention and all standard precautions are adhered to; ensure a safe, clean hygienic clinic environment, adherence to correct linen and HCRW management.<br \/>\n\tEnsure staff is trained on the Quadruple aim, nursing quality objectives and quality improvement opportunities to support the monitoring of nursing quality indicators and clinical outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>Data Management<\/p>\n<p>\tEnsure accuracy and compliance of all data collected and captured according to SOP\u2019s, Nursing standards and legal rectify all customer clinical related complaints and provide appropriate feedback to relevant stakeholders.<br \/>\n\tMaintain patient safety, dignity and confidentiality.<br \/>\n\tEnsure and manage patient flow in the nursing department to minimise waiting periods.<br \/>\n\tOriginating action to improve existing work processes and conditions for improved quality of outputs, improved clinical governance, reduce risks and ensure compliance in line with scope of practice and policies.<\/p>\n<p>Recruitment and selection<\/p>\n<p>\tActively participate in the recruitment, selection and on-boarding processes for nursing staff and other relevant staff.<\/p>\n<p>Education and training facilitation<\/p>\n<p>\tEnsure that all nursing staff are trained and signed off according to relevant training matrix, competent and effectively perform their daily tasks aligned to the Job description.<br \/>\n\tEnsure staff are up to date with relevant quality review tools, latest clinical and other processes, and procedures (SOP\u2019s), and compliance training is completed.<br \/>\n\tEnsure all human resources and other relevant Company policies and procedures are trained and adhered to.<br \/>\n\tCommunicate, provide training and implement new and revised policies and procedures in impacted departments.<br \/>\n\tEnsure all staff, including agency staff, are appropriately registered
