Purpose Statement<\/p>\n
\tTo develop strategies and operational processes for Retail Bank for the execution and embedment of compliance risk management processes as required by relevant regulatory requirements, applicable codes of conduct and minimum standards
\n\tTo be responsible for and manage compliance within the Retail Bank; to facilitate adherence to legislative requirements as prescribed by Regulation 49 of the Banks Act
\n\tTo enhance the compliance culture by developing and maintaining a thorough understanding of the relevant regulatory requirements and the global regulatory environment and best practice principles applicable to the bank \u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b<\/p>\n
Experience
\nMinimum:<\/p>\n
\t5+ years\u2019 experience in a compliance role (over and above qualification)
\n\tExperience in respect of the practical application of relevant laws and regulations is essential
\n\tUnderstanding of legal issues and the ability to interpret legislation in respect of the retail banking environment.
\n\tExposure to monitoring principles and practices
\n\tStrong business knowledge\u00a0
\n\tPrevious experience in managing a team (minimum 2 years)<\/p>\n
Ideal:<\/p>\n
\tExperience in a banking or financial services industry (credit providers, retail banks, etc.)\u00a0
\n\tProven experience in the application \/ use of risk related software packages:
\n\tEXCLAIM software
\n\tExperience in dealing with compliance issues similar to those applicable to the bank
\n\tExposure to providing training \/ public speaking
\n\tManagerial budgeting<\/p>\n
Qualifications (Minimum)<\/p>\n
\tHonours Degree in Law or Commerce<\/p>\n
Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)<\/p>\n
\tPost Graduate Diploma in Business Management or Risk and Compliance<\/p>\n
Knowledge
\nMinimum:<\/p>\n
\tKnowledge and experience of implementing and being accountable for compliance frameworks\/strategies in a retail banking environment
\n\tKnowledge and experience of implementing and being accountable for Market Conduct and Financial Crime compliance frameworks \/ strategies across the bank (RB & BB)\u00a0
\n\tSolid understanding of compliance regulation best practice and guidance\u00a0
\n\tKnowledge and understanding of compliance and operational risk regulatory requirements\u00a0
\n\tKnowledge and understanding of risk management methodologies, tools, governance structures and regulatory requirements for good management of risk\u00a0
\n\tUnderstanding of financial services business processes, especially in the retail banking environment.
\n\tDevelopment and implementation of risk management and reporting
\n\tUnderstanding of the retail banking landscape.<\/p>\n
