\tWe are seeking a Manager \u2013 Sustainability Programmes to support the delivery of donor-funded sustainability and energy transition initiatives. This presents an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact sustainability programmes across Africa with exposure to global donor institutions and development initiatives. We are often key in the Involvement in large-scale, meaningful energy transition and infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to build expertise in a fast-growing international development and sustainability domain.\u00a0<\/p>\n
This is a high-impact role operating within the International Affairs & Development (IAD) space, focused on:<\/p>\n
\tDelivering technical assistance programmes
\n\tSupporting large-scale international development initiatives
\n\tContributing to proposal development and programme funding efforts
\n\tThe role is ideal for candidates with experience in international development, sustainability advisory, or donor-funded programme delivery, who are passionate about driving environmental and societal impact.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/p>\n
Programme Delivery (Technical Assistance)<\/p>\n
\tSupport the delivery of multi-year donor-funded sustainability programmes
\n\tProvide technical assistance across:
\n\tEnergy transition
\n\tEnvironmental and sustainability initiatives (e.g. climate impact, GHG reduction, urban resilience planning)
\n\tInfrastructure-related programmes (e.g. energy, water, municipalities)
\n\tContribute to ensuring programmes deliver measurable environmental and operational impact<\/p>\n
Proposal Development & Bid Support<\/p>\n
\tSupport the preparation of high-quality proposals for donor-funded programmes
\n\tApply donor-specific frameworks, language, and compliance requirements
\n\tContribute to large-scale bids for international development projects<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Engagement<\/p>\n
Engage with:<\/p>\n
\tInternational donor organisations (e.g. development agencies, multilateral institutions)
\n\tPublic sector stakeholders
\n\tInternal consulting teams
\n\tSupport alignment between programme objectives, funding requirements, and delivery outcomes<\/p>\n
Sustainability & Energy Transition Advisory<\/p>\n
\tContribute to projects focused on:
\n\tEnergy transition and decarbonisation
\n\tClimate and environmental sustainability
\n\tUrban resilience planning (adaptation and resilience)
\n\tSupport development of practical, impact-driven solutions for clients<\/p>\n
Qualifications
\nMinimum:<\/p>\n
\tTertiary degree in Environmental Sciences, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, Marketing Science, Engineering, Business Administration or related field
\n\tProfessional Certifications e.g. Professional Natural Scientist (SACNASP), Certified Risk Management Professional (IRMSA), or equivalent<\/p>\n
Preferred:<\/p>\n
\tAn MBA or Masters in a relevant field is an advantage<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\tExperience in international development \/ donor-funded programmes
\n\tExposure to working with:
\n\tDonor institutions (e.g. development agencies, multilateral organisations)
\n\tGovernment or public sector programmes
\n\tProven experience in:
\n\tProposal writing \/ bid development
\n\tProgramme or project delivery
\n\tBackground in:
\n\tSustainability, environmental management, or energy-related fields<\/p>\n
Preferred<\/p>\n
\tExperience with:
\n\tTechnical assistance programmes
\n\tEnergy transition or climate-related initiatives
\n\tUnderstanding of:
\n\tDonor funding processes and compliance requirements
\n\tExposure to:
\n\tFinancial modelling or programme costing (supporting level)<\/p>\n
