{"id":35843,"date":"2026-05-14T10:02:23","date_gmt":"2026-05-14T10:02:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/job\/testing-standards-officer-pilot-midrand-manager-compensation-and-benefits\/"},"modified":"2026-05-14T10:03:19","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T10:03:19","slug":"testing-standards-officer-pilot-midrand-manager-compensation-and-benefits","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/job\/testing-standards-officer-pilot-midrand-manager-compensation-and-benefits\/","title":{"rendered":"Testing Standards Officer Pilot (Midrand) \n\n\n            \n\n            \n            Manager: Compensation and Benefits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CATS and CAR Development<\/p>\n<p>\tIn co-operation with Managers: Licensing and Examinations- Develop and implement Civil Aviation Regulations (CARs) and Civil Aviation Technical Standards (CATS) for the Civil Aviation Regulations Part 61, 62, 63, 68, 69 ,71,72 in compliance with the Standards and Recommended Practices of ICAO Annex 1.<\/p>\n<p>Operational Management<\/p>\n<p>\tConduct audits and inspections as per SACAA Procedures to establish compliance.<br \/>\n\tConduct oversight on the activities of designated flight examiners, Radiotelephony examiners, Language Proficiency examiners and flight instructors.<br \/>\n\tMake relevant recommendations pertaining to safety management systems.<br \/>\n\tInvestigate regulatory non-compliances and recommend remedial or enforcement measures.<br \/>\n\tProvide factual reports of audits and inspections conducted on the training organisations.<br \/>\n\tMonitor and follow up on the implementation of corrective action and the closure of action within allocated time frames.<br \/>\n\tFacilitate approval, and their maintenance with respect to Training and Procedures Manuals.<br \/>\n\tSupport the Licensing Administration function within SACAA, including the assessment of applications, against legal requirements in accordance with the provisions of the Civil Aviation Regulations 2011, Parts ,61, 62, 63, 68,69 and 71.<br \/>\n\tInvestigate and recommend action to the Director on any deviations from requirements.<br \/>\n\tIntroduce adequate measures to enable SACAA to effectively carry out its mandate of Safety and Security Oversight.<br \/>\n\tUpdate and amend all documentation, checklists, and procedures to ensure compliance with the regulations.<br \/>\n\tReview applications for the accreditation of military experience.<br \/>\n\tReview applications for the conversion of validation for foreign licences where directed.<\/p>\n<p>Support to PEL Sections and Departments<\/p>\n<p>\tProvide technical and investigation support to LAC department on enforcement issues.<br \/>\n\tRecommending the approval \/denial\/ withdrawal of exemptions, AMOCs and special approvals.<br \/>\n\tProvide technical design support to PEL FSTD and ATO inspectors.<br \/>\n\tProvide technical design support to the Exemptions and Regulatory Development section.<br \/>\n\tProvide technical support to AIID regarding the investigation of accidents and incidents.<br \/>\n\tProvide technical support to the General Aviation department.<br \/>\n\tProvide other technical support as directed by the relevant line manager.<\/p>\n<p>Design of Training and Testing Standards<\/p>\n<p>\tDesign and develop test standards and examination items for flight crew training and testing.<br \/>\n\tDesign and periodically review the curricula and syllabi of flight crew licence and rating training and examinations.<br \/>\n\tDevelop and implement standards for licensing administration that ensures adherence to requirements.<br \/>\n\tDevelop technical guidance material for flight crew training and testing.<\/p>\n<p>Communications and Safety Promotion<\/p>\n<p>\tProject a professional and positive image of the SACAA to all stakeholders.
