This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and software to ensure optimal workstation performance. The technician provides both remote and onsite support to resolve end-user issues and maintain overall IT infrastructure health.<\/p>\n<p>Duties and responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p>\tTroubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for end-users, both remotely and in person.<br \/>\n\tInstall, configure, test, and maintain desktop computers, peripheral equipment (monitors, keyboards, printers, etc.), and software.<br \/>\n\tPerform routine inspections, maintenance, and upgrades of IT equipment and systems.<br \/>\n\tTrain staff on computer literacy, IT procedures, and best practices.<br \/>\n\tMaintain accurate records of technical issues, solutions, and equipment inventory.<br \/>\n\tCollaborate with IT team members to ensure efficient operation of the desktop computing environment.<br \/>\n\tProvide advice on hardware and software purchases and upgrades.<br \/>\n\tResponsible for resolving support requests as well as meeting customer satisfaction and continuous service delivery demands.<br \/>\n\tTo install and diagnose operating systems like Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac.<br \/>\n\tTake ownership of issues by analysing problems and implementing effective temporary or permanent solutions to restore service to customers as quickly as possible, escalating incidents to other support teams when required.<br \/>\n\tAccurately record, update and document requests using the IT service desk system.<br \/>\n\tResolve printer, copier, and scanner related issues.<br \/>\n\tDemonstrate strong verbal communication skills, effectively engaging with both technical and non-technical colleagues across all levels of the organisation.<br \/>\n\tCreate, maintain and publish relevant support documentation to assist all staff in the quick resolution of their incidents and service requests.<br \/>\n\tMaintain and resolve issues on VoIP telephone, Biometric, Video systems and other computing equipment.<\/p>\n<p>Required experience:<\/p>\n<p>\t2\u20134 years of relevant experience in Desktop or Technical support roles.<br \/>\n\tExcellent understanding of Microsoft Windows 11.<br \/>\n\tGood working knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 suite of products.<br \/>\n\tFamiliarity with remote support tools.<br \/>\n\tStrong understanding of current protocols, operating systems, and IT standards.<\/p>\n<p>Required Qualifications:<\/p>\n<p>\tMatric as a minimum.<br \/>\n\tCertifications such as CompTIA A+, N+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) are advantageous.<br \/>\n\tMicrosoft Azure Fundamentals Cloud certification advantages.<\/p>\n<p>Key competencies:<\/p>\n<p>\tExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills.<br \/>\n\tStrong customer service orientation and communication abilities.<br \/>\n\tAbility to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.<br \/>\n\tDetail-oriented, organized, and able to document technical processes clearly.<br \/>\n\tCapable of working independently and as part of a team.<br \/>\n\tWillingness to stay updated with the latest technology trends and IT best practices.<br \/>\n\tIntegrity and discretion.<br \/>\n\tAble to take initiative and ownership.<br \/>\n\tA positive team player.<br \/>\n\tHighly methodical and follows tasks through to completion.<br \/>\n\t\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>go to method of application \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Apply via company website (  ) or<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_promoted":"","_job_location":"","_application":"","_company_name":"Prescient","_company_website":"","_company_tagline":"","_company_twitter":"","_company_video":"","_filled":0,"_featured":0,"_remote_position":0,"_job_salary":"","_job_salary_currency":"","_job_salary_unit":""},"job_listing_region":[15],"job-types":[18],"class_list":{"0":"post-35848","1":"job_listing","2":"type-job_listing","3":"status-publish","4":"hentry","5":"job_listing_region-western-cape","7":"job-type-contract"},"jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/job-listings\/35848","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/job-listings"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/job_listing"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=35848"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"job_listing_region","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/job_listing_region?post=35848"},{"taxonomy":"job_listing_type","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/job-types?post=35848"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
