Leadership<\/p>\n
\tLead the Mine Closure and Rehabilitation (MCR) function including the development of the\u00a0functional strategy.
\n\tLead the development, review and implementation of MCR strategies, frameworks and procedures.<\/p>\n
Strategy<\/p>\n
\tDrive the Discipline RDI strategy and operations and develop plans for the implementation of the
\n\tstrategy.
\n\tSupport the Discipline business development and commercialization and manage the execution of
\n\tstrategic programmes.
\n\tVisibility and credibility \u2013 ensuring that publication outputs, including journal and conference papers,
\n\tare met.<\/p>\n
Financial Sustainability<\/p>\n
\tSecure the Section Budget.
\n\tBalance the RDI portfolio funding and commercial targets as agreed.
\n\tEnsure that there is effective inter Discipline collaborations and collaborations between Clusters to\u00a0ensure that targets are met.
\n\tPrepares large funding proposals to attract funding from a variety of sources to support the\u00a0activities of the group.
\n\tManage and monitor the expenditure and project milestones against project targets.
\n\tMotivation and budgeting for CAPEX; handle tender process for equipment.
\n\tAnnual budgeting and monthly review.<\/p>\n
Financial Sustainability<\/p>\n
\tOversee the effective utilisation of the functional budget.
\n\tComply with financial legislative requirements.<\/p>\n
People and Planning<\/p>\n
\tEnsure that the core Sections plans are aligned with Mintek\u2019s strategy and the needs of the Division market.
\n\tEnsure that adequate Divisional planning is done to ensure effective delivery of the plans.
\n\tEnsure that there is an adequate pipeline of commercial and business leads to ensure that the Discipline can deliver on its targets.
\n\tEnsure that the Section is adequately resourced, with a particular focus on SET staff and resources. Also ensuring succession planning.
\n\tDrive the transformation agenda in the Section.
\n\tContribute to the refinement and development of the Divisional strategy and plans.<\/p>\n
Performance Management<\/p>\n
\tDeliver on the function\u2019s KPIs.
\n\tUndertake performance management of the team.
\n\tMonitor SHEQ trends and recommend improvement initiatives.<\/p>\n
Governance and Risk Management<\/p>\n
\tRisk profiling and mitigation activities for the Section activities, including SHEQ.
\n\tResponsible for the assessment and management of all risks related to the projects \/ programmes\u00a0within the Section.
\n\tResponsible for technical signoff of the work of the Section (reports, publications) and ensuring high\u00a0technical standards are maintained.
\n\tAdhere to all Mintek\u2019s policies and ethics.<\/p>\n
Relationship Management and Reporting<\/p>\n
\tStakeholder engagement, including the development of relationships with new stakeholders, stakeholder management and satisfaction for both internal and external stakeholders.
\n\tReporting on all RDI activities of the Section.
\n\tCommercialisation and technology transfer management for the Section.
\n\tLead Co-development and Co-funding initiatives.<\/p>\n
Minimum requirements<\/p>\n
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in a Civil Engineering or relevant field.
\n\tDesignated professional practitioner (Pr. Eng, Pr. Tech Eng) registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
\n\t8 \u2013 10 years\u2019 experience on the relevant field.
\n\tA Master\u2019s degree in Civil Engineering or relevant field will be advantageous.
\n\tExperience in civil engineering work, ideally in rehabilitation of mines or road-earthworks such as\u00a0major highways, rehabilitation of dump sites, tailings dams, experience in all project management\u00a0and engineering facets, management of contractors, design teams, construction management,\u00a0finance, and budget. Design and contract documentation of projects. Team management of diverse\u00a0team members. General management of a technical team. Financial management.<\/p>\n
