Role responsibilities<\/p>\n
Design and Planning Support<\/p>\n
\tAssist in the preparation of urban design proposals, concept plans, and visualizations for a range of public and private development projects across scales.
\n\tApply and integrate sustainability and urban design principles across all projects.
\n\tDevelop analysis and design drawings, diagrams, and 3D models using design software
\n\tAssist with presentation compilation and project documentation of project outputs
\n\tAssist with tender compilation and proposals<\/p>\n
Sustainability Integration<\/p>\n
\tAssist with the incorporation of\u00a0of\u00a0climate resilience strategies into design solutions, aligning with organisational sustainability frameworks and client goals.
\n\tIntegrate sustainability principles and performance criteria across all projects<\/p>\n
Research and Analysis<\/p>\n
\tConduct site and contextual analyses to inform design decisions.
\n\tResearch emerging trends in sustainable urban design and City and place-making practices
\n\tAssist with project specific research ranging from technical design to policy, strategy and best practice investigation.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Engagement<\/p>\n
\tSupport stakeholder consultation processes, preparing presentation materials for workshops and stakeholder meetings.
\n\tGather and document thorough feedback to ensure designs reflect social inclusivity and cultural\/environmental context.
\n\tAssist with consultation reporting (minutes, meetings agendas etc.)<\/p>\n
Compliance and Documentation<\/p>\n
\tAssist in preparing project reports, presentations and any other project documentation.<\/p>\n
Collaboration and Teamwork<\/p>\n
\tWork closely with multidisciplinary team and specialists to deliver integrated multidisciplinary solutions.
\n\tParticipate in internal design reviews and contribute to knowledge-sharing within the urban design and sustainability team.<\/p>\n
Minimum requirements<\/p>\n
\tUndergraduate and honours degree in a related profession (landscape architecture, city and regional\/urban planning, architecture). – Essential
\n\tUrban Design degree from a recognised institution – Advantageous
\n\tCandidate or professional registration (UDISA\/SACPLAN\/SACLAP)
\n\t3 \u2013 7 years relevant experience
\n\tInternational experience, either work or study, would be advantageous
\n\tAbility to technically apply him\/herself to a wide variety or urban design projects.
\n\tAbility to work within tight timeframes and the parameters of individual projects
\n\tAbility to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment
\n\tWilling to travel to African and Middle Eastern countries
\n\tAbility to work both independently and within a larger team setting<\/p>\n
Skills, and characteristics\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tMust have excellent drawing skills
\n\tMust have excellent written report writing and verbal communication skills
\n\tDetail-oriented, adaptable and innovative.
\n\tProficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator), and Microsoft Office Suite is required. Knowledge of Revit, GIS, SketchUp and rending tools would be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
