Overview<\/p>\n
\tAssist\u00a0with trial protocols and issue to key stakeholders post alignment with R&D Technologist\u00a0\/ R&D Manager\u00a0
\n\tAssist\u00a0with organizing\u00a0and\u00a0execute\u00a0assigned research and development projects for\u00a0SA\u00a0R&D team.\u00a0(Calendar Delivery) covering work streams ranging from\u00a0very limited\u00a0partial\u00a0autonomous ownership through to transactional and hoc delivery.\u00a0
\n\tSupport the\u00a0R&D Technologist across the\u00a0relevant product\u00a0platform to deliver low complexity projects. Specifically focused on\u00a0execution\u00a0of\u00a0prototype\u00a0to\u00a0support around\u00a0pilot plant trials.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Support the R&D technologist to execute\u00a0production trials for\u00a0low complexity projects\u00a0and report trial results to\u00a0R&D Manager\u00a0utilizing\u00a0the TSG\u00a0methodology:\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tDefine and align trial protocols which is pre-aligned with the R&D technologist.\u00a0\u00a0
\n\tCommunicate\u00a0trial\u00a0request with relevant stakeholders and support the setup of pre-trial meetings.\u00a0\u00a0
\n\tAttend pilot plant and factory trials as and when needed by the R&D technologist.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Responsible for routine analytical and product quality tests.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tLead base product collection from the production lines for development at pilot plant level\u00a0
\n\tCollaborate with product developers\u00a0
\n\tSupporteffective work in the pilot plant keeping GMP andgeneral good hygiene practices in place.\u00a0
\n\tSupport R&D Tech\/ New EHS representative on EHS initiatives (both local and onsite requirements- a few of which areadhoc)\u00a0
\n\tOnline training to enhance business knowledge\u00a0
\n\tConduct seasoning applications, ensuring in specification salt results are attained\u00a0<\/p>\n
Conduct following Laboratory tests:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tSalt Analysis
\n\tOil Analysis
\n\tBulk Density Analysis
\n\tParticle Size Analysis
\n\tMoisture Analysis\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Other project support areas\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tCompile project timelines and communicate to relevant teams to ensure required equipment and resources are available for use\u00a0
\n\tExecute scale-up activities within PepsiCo owned Production Plants and pre-selected Co-manufacturers by working closely with Project lead\u00a0
\n\tDeliver concise,accurateand complete reporting on projects to Line Manager and Project Teams, with guidance on recommendations for ingredient,\u00a0formulae\u00a0and process conditions\u00a0\u00a0
\n\tDraft R&D technical data such as artwork specifications, processspecificationsand finished pack standards with approval from Project Manager\u00a0\u00a0
\n\tWork with Regulatory to ensure legal compliance<\/p>\n

Minimum Qualification:<\/p>\n
\tSuccessfully completed the Theoretical part of their studies in scientific field with >\u00a060% Average and in\u00a0there\u00a0last year of studies. (Biochemistry, Food Technology or Engineering)\u00a0\u00a0
\n\tSouth African citizen\u00a0\u00a0
\n\tGood technical and analytical skills, basic knowledge of statistics, ability to interpret data and distil into useful and actionable information\u00a0\u00a0
\n\tSupportive team player with\u00a0an accurate, methodical,\u00a0tidy\u00a0and reliable approach\u00a0\u00a0
\n\tExcellent people skills\u00a0\u00a0
\n\tResults driven,\u00a0demonstrate\u00a0an ability to persevere and provide\u00a0timely\u00a0and direct feedback to others\u00a0\u00a0
