{"id":36005,"date":"2026-05-16T08:02:27","date_gmt":"2026-05-16T08:02:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/job\/employee-relations-litigation-compliance-manager-north-west\/"},"modified":"2026-05-16T08:02:38","modified_gmt":"2026-05-16T08:02:38","slug":"employee-relations-litigation-compliance-manager-north-west","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/job\/employee-relations-litigation-compliance-manager-north-west\/","title":{"rendered":"Employee Relations (Litigation &amp; Compliance) Manager (North West)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Operational Management<\/p>\n<p>\tImplement the Group ER strategy.<br \/>\n\tUpdate ER policies and procedures.<br \/>\n\tER capacity building.<br \/>\n\tSupporting the Senior Manager Human Resources with operational on day-to-day ER issues.<br \/>\n\tStrikes and lockouts management.<br \/>\n\tLitigation \/ Represent the Company at the CCMA.<br \/>\n\tDrafting formal communique on behalf of the ER Department.<br \/>\n\tWeekly and monthly reports.<br \/>\n\tSub-Contractor (Business Partners) management on ER issues.<br \/>\n\tServe in various stakeholder engagement forums (Employment Equity, Skills Development Forum, Health &amp; Safety, Future Forum).<br \/>\n\tChair the incapacity consultative committee.<br \/>\n\tChair the Union-Management meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Compliance Management<\/p>\n<p>\tStay up-to-date with South African labour laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure the company&#8217;s policies and practices are compliant with relevant legislation and reduce ER risk.<br \/>\n\tCheck relevant case law\/studies are communicated in advance to management to enable the team to take a pro-active stance when addressing ER matters.<\/p>\n<p>Financial Management<\/p>\n<p>\tAnalyse all relevant Department data and report on Departmental trends and operating requirements so as to determine funding requirements for the financial year.<br \/>\n\tMonitor short-term Departmental budgets by scrutinising and aligning spend within the Department, to support and drive effective and efficient functioning within budgetary constraints.<br \/>\n\tMonitor Departmental expenditure against budget allocations, requesting appropriate reallocation as required, to manage the prevention of unnecessary spend.<br \/>\n\tComply with all financial, Supply Chain Management (SCM) and other TM regulations and policies by facilitating the right actions, to reduce financial risk in the Department.<br \/>\n\tManage incapacity settlements, including those due to ill-health\/injury as well as poor performance, by following the LRA\u2019s recommended steps for an incapacity counselling process, ensuring this is a participative and interactive process. When necessary, manage incapacity exit hearings.<\/p>\n<p>People Management<\/p>\n<p>\tCreate and maintain a conducive work environment by appropriately applying Human Resources policies and procedures to ensure optimum performance is realised for the benefit of the Department and, by extension, the organisation.<br \/>\n\tLead the team according to TM\u2019s leadership principles and values throughout the entire employee life cycle (performance management, reward etc) to ensure, inter alia, a high-performance culture.<br \/>\n\tCollaborate with Human Resources (HR) and management teams to implement performance management processes, ensuring fairness and consistency in performance evaluations.<br \/>\n\tIdentify training needs related to ER and collaborate with the Learning and Development (L&amp;D) team to develop and deliver relevant workshops or sessions, so as the address the required training needs of the Tharisa Workforce.<br \/>\n\tPromote a positive workplace culture that values diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities for all employees, so as to ensure that all employees feel valued and accommodated with TM.<br \/>\n\tUpskill the ER team, ensuring they are equipped both with the knowledge and skill to make representations at the CCMA.<\/p>\n<p>Stakeholder Relations<\/p>\n<p>\tStakeholder relations management with NUM, AMCU or other recognized trade unions.<br \/>\n\tBuild and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure information, advice or opinions on relevant matters is made available and\/or communicated with all relevant stakeholders, to manage expectations and timelines.<br \/>\n\tUtilise opportunities presented to enhance the relationship between management, unions and employees, and implement processes to maximise a collaborative working relationship.<\/p>\n<p>Requirements<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications:<\/p>\n<p>\tGrade 12 (NQF4)<br \/>\n\tLLB Degree or bachelor\u2019s degree (NQF7) or equivalent in Employee Relations and Labour Law<\/p>\n<p>Job-specific experience:<\/p>\n<p>\tMinimum of 8-10 years Human Resources or Employee Relations experience, of which at least five (5) years should be within the Mining Industry at management level<br \/>\n\tAbility to work with the full Microsoft suite (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)<br \/>\n\tExperience\/Exposure on MS Dynamics F&amp;O, Reporting tools: MS Power BI<\/p>\n<p>Apply via company website ( N \/ A ) or<\/p>\n<p>tharisa.mcidirecthire.com<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_promoted":"","_job_location":"","_application":"http:\/\/tharisa.mcidirecthire.com","_company_name":"Tharisa","_company_website":"http:\/\/N%20\/%20A","_company_tagline":"harisa is a European headquartered integrated resource group.
