We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our Payroll Outsourcing division within Business Process Solutions (BPS). This operational role is responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of multiple client payrolls, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), and providing excellent client service.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tProcess end-to-end payrolls for multiple outsourcing clients across various industries, including preparation, documentation, and disbursement of payroll EFT\/transfers.
\n\tEnsure payrolls are processed accurately, on time, and in line with client-specific requirements and SLAs.
\n\tPrepare, review, and submit all statutory returns (PAYE, SDL, UIF, COIDA, EMP201\/EMP501).
\n\tEnsure legislative compliance with South African labour and tax laws.
\n\tPerform payroll reconciliations, variance analysis, and exception reporting.
\n\tBuild and maintain strong relationships with payroll outsourcing clients.
\n\tHandle escalated payroll and statutory queries from clients.
\n\tPrepare and review client-specific payroll reports and statutory summaries.
\n\tParticipate in client meetings, service reviews, and issue resolution discussions.
\n\tSupport the onboarding of new outsourcing clients, including payroll setup, data validation, parallel runs, and go-live support.
\n\tRegister PAYE, UIF, SDL & COIDA at relevant statutory bodies.<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tMinimum 5 years\u2019 experience in a Payroll Outsourcing\/Bureau environment processing multiple client payrolls.
\n\tProven experience working to strict SLAs and managing competing client deadlines.
\n\tSolid understanding of South African payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
\n\tPayroll qualification or certification advantageous.
\n\tSAPA professional membership advantageous.<\/p>\n
Systems & Technical Skills<\/p>\n
\tExperience with payroll systems such as Sage 300, Sage VIP, PaySpace, or similar.
\n\tStrong Microsoft Excel skills (reconciliations, pivot tables, lookups).
\n\tStrong reporting and analytical ability.
\n\tGood understanding of PAYE principles and ability to resolve PAYE queries on payslips.
\n\tKnowledge of Basic Conditions of Employment Act.
\n\tAbility to prove calculations on payslips.
\n\tGood knowledge of SARS E@syfile and E-filing.<\/p>\n
