Job Purpose:<\/p>\n
\tThe Claims Consultant is responsible for managing claims allocated to the branch, in alignment with branch mandates and company standards. This role plays a key part in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the claims department by upholding technical excellence and service quality. The incumbent will contribute to the growth and profitability of Hollardby ensuring accurate claims settlement, maintaining the department\u2019s professional standards, and fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, thereby enhancing Hollard\u2019s reputation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tClaims Evaluation & Investigation: Apply technical expertise to assess and investigate claims thoroughly, minimizing financial leakage and ensuring accurate settlements.
\n\tCustomer Service Excellence: Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external clients in line with service level agreements and Hollard\u2019s quality standards. \u00a0
\n\tBroker Support & Engagement: Provide enhanced support to brokers that extends beyond standard claims processing to include expert technical consultation and comprehensive assistance.
\n\tRisk & Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal policies, claims procedures, and regulatory requirements. Apply Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles consistently.
\n\tEffective and timeous communication: Communicate in a professional manner with internal and external parties and respond to queries within 24 hours.
\n\tRegistration: All claims received are to be registered within 24 hours. Ensure accurate and complete claims records are maintained on the claims management system.
\n\tClaims Handling from registration through to finalisation.
\n\tDispute Resolution: Manage claims disputes effectively, ensuring fair outcomes and maintaining stakeholder trust.\u00a0
\n\tSupport internal and external audits by providing accurate claims documentation and information.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Required Knowledge and Experience\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience<\/p>\n
\tGood knowledge of Commercial & Personal with at least minimum of 5 – 7 years\u2019 experience.\u00a0
\n\tGood communication skills oral and written (English and Afrikaans).\u00a0
\n\tEffective communication and stakeholder management\u00a0
\n\tStrong attention to detail and analytical skills.\u00a0
\n\tMust have a solid understanding of short-term insurance products, policy wordings and the claims procedure.\u00a0
\n\tMust be proficient in insurance terminology and FAIS compliant.\u00a0
\n\tLegal knowledge (prescription act, insurance act, FAIS).\u00a0
\n\tUnderwriting knowledge (ability to interpret policy wording, understanding how claims information impacts on underwriting).\u00a0
\n\tBasic risk assessment knowledge (understand the assessment process, with an ability to appoint the right assessor).\u00a0
\n\tA basic understanding of reinsurance and treaties.\u00a0
\n\tMust have product & basic financial knowledge (estimates, premiums, co-insurance).\u00a0<\/p>\n
