audience relevance, especially among younger and underserved audiences, and develops sustainable digital revenue \u00a0streams in line with the SABC\u2019s long-term turnaround and digital transformation strategy.<\/p>\n<p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT SABC+ STRATEGY &amp; VISION\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tFormulate and execute the SABC+ vision and strategy aligned to the SABC\u2019s public broadcasting mandate and commercial objectives.<br \/>\n\tProvide strategic leadership to the SABC+ platform in order to ensure competitive advantage<br \/>\n\tPosition SABC Plus as a primary digital destination for South African and African audiences, especially the youth segment.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0FINANCIAL SUSTAINABILITY &#8211; MONETISATION &amp; COMMERCIAL GROWTH<\/p>\n<p>\tOwn the SABC Plus business plan, budget, forecasts, and long-term sustainability model<br \/>\n\tDefine and track KPIs and dashboards<br \/>\n\tEnsure responsible use of public resources and cost efficiency<br \/>\n\tDevelop and deliver monetisation strategies aligned to public broadcasting principles<br \/>\n\tGrow digital advertising and alternative revenue streams while maintaining audience trust<br \/>\n\tWork closely with Sales, Commercial, and Finance to deliver SMART revenue targets<br \/>\n\tManage and oversee the process of training needs analyses and skills gaps to determine knowledge and skills gaps for the SABC.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>CONTENT STRATEGY AND AUDIENCE GROWTH\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tOwn audience acquisition, engagement, and retention strategies for SABC Plus<br \/>\n\tUse real time audience insights and analytics to support SABC Plus content acquisition, production, and delivery strategies \u2013 across Sport, Radio, News, and Video Entertainment<br \/>\n\tOversee the coordination of content proposals, commercial negotiations, impact assessments, business case development, contracting, onboarding, performance reporting, and recommendations<br \/>\n\tUse real time consumer data to build and deliver relevant consumer experiences on the platform<br \/>\n\tBuild and protect the SABC Plus brand as a trusted, inclusive, and innovative public streaming service\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>TECHNOLOGY INFRASTRUCTURE &amp; PRODUCT INNOVATION\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tCollaborate with the Technology Division to ensure the technology infrastructure is fit for purpose.<br \/>\n\tEnsure the SABC+\u2019s technology stack enables the needs of audience segment<br \/>\n\tProvide executive ownership of the SABC Plus platform, including product roadmap, UX\/UI, reliability, scalability, and security<br \/>\n\tOversee platform development based on audience insights, data analytics, service accessibility, and impact<br \/>\n\tLead the SABC Plus team &#8211; across market intelligence, business development, content delivery, product management, technology, marketing, and sales functions\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0GOVERNANCE &amp; COMPLIANCE\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tEnsure compliance with ICASA regulations, POPIA, and SABC\u2019s governance frameworks<br \/>\n\tEnsure adherence to policies, organisational imperatives, legislative and any other regulatory prescripts<br \/>\n\tImplement internal control measures to ensure good governance and compliance with SABC policies and procedures<br \/>\n\tEnsure resolution of all internal and external audit findings to address the identified gaps<br \/>\n\tEnsure that the Strategic, Operational, and Project Risks are optimized and aligned to the SABC Risk Management Framework<br \/>\n\tRepresent SABC Plus at Exco, Board, and strategic partner level\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 PARTNERSHIPS &amp; STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\tReview existing strategic partnerships on an ongoing basis to ensure that they are sound and deliver the expected outcomes<br \/>\n\tDrive partnerships with telcos, device manufacturers, platforms, and distributors to expand reach and accessibility<br \/>\n\tManage relationships with internal SABC divisions and industry partners<br \/>\n\tSecure strategic partnerships to support platform growth<br \/>\n\tPosition SABC Plus as a cornerstone of the SABC\u2019s digital future, public value proposition, and commercial growth\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0INHERENT\/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n<p>QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n<p>\tBachelor\u2019s degree in business management, Technology (Computer Science or Information Systems), Digital Media or a related field<br \/>\n\tAn equivalent master\u2019s degree or MBA would be added advantage.<\/p>\n<p>EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n<p>\t10 or more years in Broadcasting experience in General Management, with at least 5 years in a strategic leadership role.<br \/>\n\tGood understanding and experience to commercialize business strategies<br \/>\n\tDemonstrated success in launching and scaling digital products or services<br \/>\n\tExperience with analytics tools, product metrics, and performance management<br \/>\n\tStrong commercial and financial management capability<br \/>\n\tExcellent financial management and scenario planning experience within the PFMA and relevant national treasury regulations<\/p>\n<p>KNOWLEDGE<\/p>\n<p>\tExcellent leadership and stakeholder management experience<br \/>\n\tDeep understanding of the business model and uses data AND analytics to solve core business problems<br \/>\n\tCommercial acumen balanced with public value<br \/>\n\tStrategic, Design, and Systems Thinking Exposure<br \/>\n\tUnderstanding of Agile and Lean Methodologies such as SCRUM and KANBAN<br \/>\n\tExperience in the public sector or familiarity with the PFMA and best-in-practise corporate governance, including King IV Codes of Good Governance.<br \/>\n\tA very good understanding of the cross-functional teamwork model<br \/>\n\tKnowledge of the Broadcasting Act, the Electronic Communications Act, ICASA Regulations, and related National Treasury regulations<br \/>\n\tFamiliarity of the SABC Bill and Audio and Audio-visual Content Services (AAVCS) &#8211;
