The role focuses on establishing BD as a trusted strategic partner at C\u2011Suite and senior clinical leadership levels, enabling long-term collaboration and joint value creation.<br \/>\n\tThis role requires deep understanding of State Sector dynamics, strong stakeholder influence, and the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary account teams to deliver measurable impact, enhanced customer experience, and expanded access to BD\u2019s portfolio across priority accounts.<\/p>\n<p>Main responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n<p>\tLead the development and execution of a\u00a03\u20135-year State Sector Strategic Account Plan, prioritizing key high\u2011impact hospitals and public health institutions.<br \/>\n\tDrive\u00a0revenue and gross profit growth\u00a0by identifying opportunities across BD portfolios and coordinating cross\u2011BU initiatives for increased share of wallet.<br \/>\n\tLead and coordinate the\u00a0cross-Business Unit account teams, ensuring clear strategic direction, alignment of objectives, accountability, and effective execution with all BD stakeholders.<br \/>\n\tBuild and maintain deep understanding of\u00a0State Sector funding flows, procurement processes, tender dynamics, reimbursement challenges, and public health priorities.<br \/>\n\tManage and support the execution of\u00a0tender strategies, bid submissions, and contracting requirements in collaboration with Tendering, Contract Lifecycle, Commercial, and BU teams.<br \/>\n\tProactively analyze customer needs, service gaps, and clinical\/operational challenges to propose BD solutions (products, services, digital capabilities, and value\u2011added programs).<br \/>\n\tTrack and report on\u00a0account performance, opportunity pipeline, forecast accuracy, and progress against strategic plans using BD CRM and reporting tools.<br \/>\n\tPartner with Public Affairs, Market Access, and Strategic Marketing to unlock access barriers, influence policy drivers, and position BD as a leader in health system strengthening.<br \/>\n\tEnsure\u00a0compliance with BD policies, quality standards, ethical requirements, and tender governance through all engagements and commercial activities.<br \/>\n\tRepresent BD Africa in high\u2011level forums, strategic engagements, and health-system partnerships relevant to key State Sector accounts.<\/p>\n<p>About you<\/p>\n<p>\tBachelor\u2019s degree required, preference for Life Sciences, Health Sciences, Commerce, Business Administration, or related field.<br \/>\n\tMinimum 7+ years of commercial experience in healthcare, medical devices, diagnostics, or pharmaceuticals.<br \/>\n\tProven track record in Strategic Account Management or Key Account Management, preferably in the State or Public Health Sector.<br \/>\n\tDemonstrated experience managing multi-stakeholder, cross-functional teams and driving complex commercial projects.<br \/>\n\tDeep knowledge of\u00a0procurement regulations, tender cycles, and contract frameworks\u00a0relevant to public sector healthcare.<br \/>\n\tStrong analytical and financial acumen, including ability to interpret data, assess account potential, and build investment cases.<br \/>\n\tDemonstrated problem-solving, resilience, and ability to work in a complex environment with multiple priorities.<br \/>\n\tRegular local travel to State Sector hospitals,
