\tRadley Private School\u00a0is seeking a caring and enthusiastic FET-qualified educator with a passion for teaching Afrikaans. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that foster purposeful learning progression, evaluating and reporting on academic progress, and maintaining comprehensive records as per the requirements of the Department of Education and other relevant legislation. We are looking for the new teacher to start immediately.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tEngage in classroom teaching\u00a0that fosters a meaningful progression in learners\u2019 understanding of Afrikaans.
\n\tImplement strategies\u00a0to improve learner results and ensure agreed outcomes are met each term.
\n\tPrepare lessons\u00a0considering curriculum guidelines, new teaching approaches, technology integration, and learner needs.
\n\tPlan, coordinate, administer, evaluate, and report\u00a0on learner academic progress.
\n\tProvide extra lessons\u00a0where learning gaps are identified.
\n\tAssist the\u00a0Principal\u00a0with learner counselling, guidance, discipline, career advice, and overall welfare.
\n\tEnsure\u00a0accurate and up-to-date\u00a0learner attendance and assessment records are maintained within deadlines.
\n\tOversee the\u00a0SBA (School-Based Assessment)\u00a0programme of assessment.
\n\tComprehensive record keeping, updating databases, and statistical analysis as required by the Department of Education.
\n\tModerate\u00a0test and exam papers\u00a0(internal and external), as well as their memoranda when required.
\n\tPerform various\u00a0non-teaching administrative duties, such as fire drills and first aid.<\/p>\n
Skills, Competencies & Minimum Criteria<\/p>\n
\tFET Qualified\u00a0with a recognised four-year teaching degree\/diploma from an accredited institution.
\n\tSACE Registration\u00a0is essential.\u00a0IEB Grade 12 experience\u00a0is advantageous.
\n\tCompliance\u00a0with all legislative and regulatory requirements for teachers.
\n\tAt least\u00a0three years of teaching experience.
\n\tFamiliar with the\u00a0CAPS curriculum\u00a0for Afrikaans and related subjects.
\n\tProficient in\u00a0modern teaching practices, including personalised learning, flipped classrooms, differentiated instruction, and effective use of technology in teaching.
\n\tPassion for Afrikaans\u00a0and a genuine interest in developing young minds.
\n\tExperience in entrepreneurship\u00a0or entrepreneurial activities is highly advantageous.
\n\tExcellent communication skills in\u00a0both written and spoken English.
\n\tComputer literacy\u00a0with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
\n\tOwn reliable\u00a0transport\u00a0and a valid driver\u2019s licence is an advantage.<\/p>\n
