The purpose of the position is to support the Product Management team in driving data-led decision-making across brand strategy, product investment, and portfolio optimisation.<br \/>\n\tThis role is critical in ensuring the business invests in the right brands and products by balancing profitability, market share growth, and strategic positioning across private label and premium brands.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n<p>\tCost Management Accountant \u2013 CIMA<br \/>\n\tCA(SA)<br \/>\n\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field<br \/>\n\t3\u20135 years\u2019 experience in a commercial, financial, or business analysis role.<br \/>\n\tExperience in product, brand, or category management environments is advantageous.<br \/>\n\tThe candidate should ideally have approximately 5 years of experience in management accounting.<\/p>\n<p>Knowledge Skills and Abilities:<\/p>\n<p>\tStrong financial and analytical skills<br \/>\n\tAdvanced Excel and data analysis capability<br \/>\n\tExperience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar)<br \/>\n\tStrong commercial acumen and understanding of margin drivers<br \/>\n\tAbility to translate data into actionable insights<br \/>\n\tStrong presentation and communication skills<br \/>\n\tHigh attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities<br \/>\n\tHighly analytical and detail-oriented<br \/>\n\tProactive and solution-driven mindset<br \/>\n\tStrong business partnering capability<br \/>\n\tAbility to influence decision-making through data<br \/>\n\tLooking for a high-potential candidate who could form part of the succession plan for this position.<br \/>\n\tThe candidate must have strong people skills to engage, discuss, and negotiate favorable commercial positions for the business.<br \/>\n\tThe candidate must possess a strong ability to work with Power BI, extract data accurately, and rework it into logical commercial reporting.<\/p>\n<p>Key Performance Indicators:<\/p>\n<p>\tImprovement in gross margin across brands\/categories<br \/>\n\tAccuracy and effectiveness of BI reporting<br \/>\n\tROI performance of new product introductions<br \/>\n\tContribution to market share growth<br \/>\n\tQuality and impact of commercial recommendations<\/p>\n<p>Commercial &amp; Brand Strategy Support<\/p>\n<p>\tPartner with Product Managers to evaluate and refine brand strategies.<br \/>\n\tProvide financial and market insights to guide investment decisions across brands.<br \/>\n\tSupport the balance between private label and premium brand portfolios to maximise profitability and market competitiveness.<br \/>\n\tForecast and calculate gross profit forecasts per Product Category based on brand strategy and volumes, including the impact of rebates over a period of 1 to 3 years.<\/p>\n<p>Business Intelligence &amp; Reporting<\/p>\n<p>\tDevelop, maintain, and enhance business intelligence (BI) reports and dashboards.<br \/>\n\tEnsure accurate, timely, and relevant reporting to support commercial and financial decision-making.<br \/>\n\tAnalyse sales, margin, and market trends to identify risks and opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>Financial Analysis &amp; Margin Optimization<\/p>\n<p>\tConduct detailed profitability analysis at brand, category, and product level.<br \/>\n\tIdentify opportunities to improve margins through pricing, sourcing, and portfolio optimisation.<br \/>\n\tSupport initiatives aimed at growing market share while maintaining financial targets.<br \/>\n\tAssist with computing changes to trading terms from suppliers.<br \/>\n\tEngage with suppliers to manage current levels of rebate achievement to ensure rebate potential is maximised within brand strategy.<\/p>\n<p>New Product Development &amp;
