AltGen is looking for a skilled Accountant to join a renewable energy company based in Stellenbosch for a 6-month contract. The role will take full accounting function of the Operations and Maintenance section of the Group and support and assist the Finance Team on the remaining companies in the Group as needed. The role will entail that you get a clear understanding of the accounting on the Investments, Operations and Maintenance side of the business.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities
\nBusiness section: Operations and Maintenance<\/p>\n
\tInvoicing of all Operations and Maintenance fees (internal, external and OTC\u2019s).
\n\tMonthly recons, e.g. to check if the cost of sales incurred was invoiced out.
\n\tMonitoring of contract increase and expiry dates to ensure effectiveness and timely application and renewal.
\n\tManaging SIM card function for O&M assets.
\n\tCalculate and prepare VAT return.
\n\tAssist with the annual Budget for the company.<\/p>\n
Business section: Investments Group<\/p>\n
\tDebtors follow-up, checks and analysis.
\n\tReview VAT calculations and returns before submission.
\n\tPull the weekly payment files.
\n\tReview and approve monthly rooftop invoices and update reconciliation.
\n\tLiaise with PKF on VAT audits, submit information and follow up on progress.
\n\tLiaise with Investec for new credit cards or any changes to current cards.
\n\tOpening of bank accounts and maintenance of accounts.
\n\tPrepare annual audit files and respond to auditors\u2019 queries.
\n\tAssist with checking of monthly Livewires before invoicing is done.
\n\tAssist Team with questions on recons, loans, journals, invoicing and VAT.
\n\tReview and approve weekly payments.
\n\tIncome Tax, VAT and EMP registrations for new companies and administration on current profiles.
\n\tAssist with annual income tax returns completion and submission.
\n\tAssist with the review of the annual Financial Statements.<\/p>\n
Adhoc<\/p>\n
\tAssist the Investments Finance Team with ad hoc tasks as needed.
\n\tAssist the CFO with ad hoc tasks.
\n\tAssist the Financial Manager with ad hoc tasks.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tBachelor of Commerce Accounting
\n\tAGA or CA membership with SAICA
\n\t3-5 years\u2019 relevant accounting experience
\n\tProficient in MS Excel and comfortable with financial systems
\n\tWilling to take on a 6-month contract<\/p>\n
