JOB DESCRIPTION<\/p>\n
\tThe positions will have full accountability for the underwriting of all very large Commercial Property policies with exposures greater than R250m at every stage of the policy lifecycle i.e. from quote stage to amendments to renewal of these policies and will therefore require a certain level of discretion to be considered and applied. The key focus area will be for policies that require reinsurance.
\n\tEnsure quotations are received, provide all necessary information required by brokers and. The incumbent will be expected to know these policies intimately and be able to discuss details directly with brokers, giving advice where required and suggesting solutions.<\/p>\n
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
\tQuotation of large Commercial Property risks
\n\tPreparation of quotations and review of underwriting terms in line with Santam guidelines and mandates
\n\tEngagement with brokers and internal stakeholders on complex risks
\n\tPreparation of reinsurance calculations and exposure assessments in respect to quotes
\n\tSupport to Relationship Managers on new business and technical underwriting decisions<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 (Matric Certificate) qualification
\n\tHigher Certificate in Insurance or equivalent NQF 5 Short term Insurance qualification \u2013 120 credits
\n\tA minimum of 5 years\u2019 experience working within commercial and\/or corporate insurance
\n\tAt least 3 years\u2019 experience in a sales or new business environment within a mid corporate or corporate underwriting function
\n\tWorking knowledge of Re-Insurance is a requirement
\n\tComputer literate (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint \u2013 intermediated proficiency levels)
\n\tSound technical, product and wording knowledge of Commercial or Agri insurance.\u00a0
\n\tProfessional designation – Licentiateship (LIISA) – Advantageous<\/p>\n
