This role is central to the management of piping systems projects and contracts, requiring a candidate who can operate effectively at both a technical and commercial level. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the full sales cycle \u2014 from costing and estimation through to order fulfilment and customer relationship management \u2014 while ensuring alignment with company policies, targets, and compliance standards.<\/p>\n<p>Minimum Requirements\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<br \/>\nQualifications<\/p>\n<p>\tNQF Level 4\u20135 \/ Grade 12 (tertiary qualification advantageous).<br \/>\n\tAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and bills of material.<\/p>\n<p>Experience<\/p>\n<p>\tMinimum 5 years&#8217; sales and estimating experience within a contracts and projects environment.<br \/>\n\tMinimum 7 years&#8217; experience in the steel industry.<br \/>\n\tStrong knowledge of Fluid Control products.<br \/>\n\tAbility to engage technically and commercially at all levels.<\/p>\n<p>Technical Skills<\/p>\n<p>\tProficient in SAP, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook (intermediate level).<br \/>\n\tCode B driver&#8217;s licence required.<\/p>\n<p>Personal Competencies<\/p>\n<p>\tStrong communication and interpersonal skills.<br \/>\n\tHigh attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.<br \/>\n\tProven ability to work under pressure in a results-driven environment.<br \/>\n\tTeam player with strong problem-solving, planning, and decision-making abilities.<br \/>\n\tCustomer-service oriented with effective change management skills.<\/p>\n<p>Duties and Responsibilities\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<br \/>\nSales Administration<\/p>\n<p>\tAccurately cost and estimate Piping Systems RFQs and tenders.<br \/>\n\tPrepare, submit, and negotiate proposals in accordance with company policies and procedures.<br \/>\n\tExecute projects cost-effectively and in line with mutually agreed technical and commercial terms.<br \/>\n\tAdminister contract sales orders per contract requirements.<br \/>\n\tCoordinate effectively with Purchasing, QA\/QC, Operations, Credit Control, and Logistics.<br \/>\n\tIdentify and negotiate with service providers within company guidelines.<br \/>\n\tAccurately calculate and capture all relevant sales orders and quotations.<br \/>\n\tCommunicate product requirements to the purchasing department.<br \/>\n\tCommunicate new leads to external sales representatives and sales management.<br \/>\n\tLiaise with distribution to ensure on-time delivery.<br \/>\n\tKeep customers well informed on order status and implement corrective action when required.<br \/>\n\tIssue credit and debit notes per procedure in a timely manner.<br \/>\n\tAttend to customer needs promptly and communicate service failures to management.<br \/>\n\tIdentify possible new clients.<\/p>\n<p>Sales Management<\/p>\n<p>\tMeet or exceed branch sales targets as set by the Business Unit.<br \/>\n\tProvide timely feedback on quotations, orders, stock availability, and service delivery.<\/p>\n<p>People Development<\/p>\n<p>\tComplete Individual Development Plans and actively participate in learning and development initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>Stakeholder Relations<\/p>\n<p>\tBuild and maintain strong internal and external relationships to support team objectives and a stable working environment.<\/p>\n<p>Governance, Compliance &amp; Risk Management<\/p>\n<p>\tAdhere to all statutory regulations, organisational policies, and procedures.<br \/>\n\tContribute to continuous improvement of standards and monitor compliance within area of responsibility.<br \/>\n\tReport non-compliance and implement corrective actions promptly.<\/p>\n<p>Reporting<\/p>\n<p>\tObtain, verify, and accurately capture data; file documents per procedure.<br \/>\n\tCollate and submit reports; run data exception reports and implement corrective action as required.<\/p>\n<p>Deadline:26th May,2026<\/p>\n<p>go to method of application \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Apply via company website ( N \/ A ) or<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_promoted":"","_job_location":"","_application":"","_company_name":"Macsteel","_company_website":"http:\/\/N%20\/%20A","_company_tagline":"We take a conservative trading approach that is focused on the fundamentals and structure of the trade, supported by an experienced back-office team that provides top-notch service through to trade completion.
