PURPOSE OF POSITION<\/p>\n
\t\ufeff\ufeffTo provide age-appropriate patient care according to the nursing scope of practice as defined by the South African Nursing Council (SANC).<\/p>\n
\ufeff\ufeffKEY PERFORMANCE AREAS<\/p>\n
\t\ufeffPractice within your scope of practice as a Registered Nurse.
\n\tProvide care for patients with acute conditions by building therapeutic relationships and responding to their physical and emotional needs while delivering effective care.
\n\tAdminister patients’ medication and treatments and monitor outcomes.
\n\tManage symptoms of mental illness, de-escalate stressful situations, and support patients in overcoming challenges.
\n\tEngage with patients’ families and other members of the healthcare team, providing advice and information regarding patients’ conditions.
\n\tPrepare and maintain patient records and develop care plans and risk assessments.
\n\tOrganize group therapy sessions, including social and artistic activities aimed at promoting patients’ mental recovery.
\n\tLead and supervise the team.
\n\tAttend to patients’ complaints.
\n\tProvide safe, high-quality patient care within the ward\/unit.
\n\tComply with SANC requirements and all relevant stakeholder legislation.<\/p>\n
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
\t\ufeff\ufeffMatric is essential.
\n\tDiploma or Degree in Nursing Science or a related qualification.
\n\tMust be Psych trained.
\n\tMust be registered with SANC as a Registered Nurse with valid APC.
\n\tMust have two or more years of experience as a Professional Nurse in a Psychiatric Ward.
\n\tComputer literate \u2013 MS Word & Excel.
\n\tMust be prepared to do shift-work (Night shift \/ Day Shift).<\/p>\n
